This review is based off the entire experience, from reaching out for a quote, to a month after the job was finally complete.Master Bathroom Remodel: 5’x10’ spaceThe company replied to my initial inquiry quickly & had a salesperson over in record time. He was great, unfortunately the initial quote was out of our price range. The company reached out-a lot a few weeks later: calls, texts, emails. They offered to see if they could get us a lower quote. The second salesman was in fact able to do so, although we also cut out a few items from the project. We were told the project would take 3 days from start to finish, and that the company didn’t use subcontractors. Word to the wise, ask about work days/hours before committing to a start date, unless you don’t mind your bathroom being out of commission longer than originally planned. The company had most of the materials delivered to the house before the actual start of the project: great. Unfortunately the first crew had to get more materials after arriving the first day.I say first crew, because we had MULTIPLE sets of workers come through the house throughout the duration of the project. All of them subcontractors. When I asked about it, the salesperson tried to backtrack about “the company’s growth & subcontracting occasionally.” If they would have been honest about that up front things would have been fine. But it was annoying having Upgrade Remodeling staff try to tell me this wasn’t a big deal. The work done & attention to detail was inconsistent at best throughout the process. The “lead” from the subcontracting team would ask about the placement of some items but not others.1. The subcontracting team screwed a tension shower rod into our brand new shower wall panels without asking. They DID replace the panels, but it took a while AND the project manager that never once came to the house tried to gaslight us into leaving it as in because “that’s how it’s done in most cases.” I also received a call from some other manger also trying to get us to leave the install as is. Absolutely disgraceful & disappointing how hard it was to get what we wanted done, done correctly.2. We had a hole cut in our living room ceiling that we weren’t prepared for. It took two different sets of contractors to match the texture on the ceiling once that was “fixed.” We also didn’t have ceiling paint on hand so we have a patch of mismatched ceiling and white paint splatters on our living room walls.3. Getting the new walls installed correctly & professionally was a pain. Unfortunately one of the walls doesn’t line up with the back wall so the faux tile is off. To add to that, the team of men that “completed” the re-install of the walls were insistent that they couldn’t make the caulking smooth after telling me that their main concern was attention to detail. So a completely different gentleman had to show up the following day to fix their work. He did it in a single morning himself.4. The day of the mirror install, there was only one person here, he broke the mirror & we had to wait for the company to source a replacement. Upon the mirror installation, it’s not centered, nor are the mirror clips at the top of the mirror. This was something that had I been asked about, would have been simple to do-also, why would one not center or at the very least set the mirror clips at an equal distance?5. The vanity that was installed is sturdy, very pretty; however the paint/finish is already peeling in multiple places.Overall, we knew that we weren’t capable of doing the work ourselves & went with a company that was upper middle tier price-point-wise. Their sales staff were great at getting our attention. The installation teams need a lot of supervision. And the management is questionable.
We had a wonderful experience with having our bath room ungraded to accommodate our needs as we get older. We feel completely safe in using our bigger shower that is also much easier to clean. Upgraded Remodeling were so professional, with great work ethics, and had wonderful suggestions to make our experience so easy. What a relief to have our safety needs taken care of, not to mention it is so beautiful.
I was referred to Upgrade Remodeling by my neighbor. Her bathrooms all came out wonderful, so I didn’t call around. AJ, the salesman, was amazing. He was patient while I took forever to make a decision and ensured I was happy with my decision. The installers came before Thanksgiving to complete the shower and flooring and managed to complete the job in 1 day. After looking at the finish product, I noticed a lot of deficiencies. I called the company and they immediately made it right by ordering new materials and scheduling the second install. I even decided to upgrade the vanity this time around because I wanted the bathroom completely remodeled. The second install was alot smoother and completed in 2 days. Although there were a few hiccups throughout the process, I am glad they stood by their word and completed the job to my standards.
We had completely gutted our bathroom down to the studs and then figured we were in over our heads to do the remodel. Upgrade Remodeling was great to work with from Deirdra coming out to evaluate and provide an estimate to the workteam of Leo and Ivan soing the construction. They moved a wall, put in an all new shower, drywalled and plumbed the a whole new bathroom ready for us to finish the rest as we requested. Thank you so much. Great job overall!
Hailey, my Upgrade rep who came and worked with me, was very professional and helpful. Installers arrived on time and worked quickly and efficiently. They were very mindful to keep the work area clean and my furniture and floor protected. Fast and efficient, they knocked it all out in one day and did a great job cleaning up. Overall great experience.
