We hired Ricky with Lester Construction for our primary bathroom renovation, which originally started as what we thought would be minor remedial work. A burst Roman tub faucet hose had caused hidden water damage behind the tile surround, affecting drywall, insulation, cabinetry, and more. After mold remediation, our bathroom was stripped down to the studs, and we lived with it that way for quite some time while deciding our next steps.

Because our home is over 10 years old and many of the original finishes were no longer available, we had to decide whether to patch things back together or fully renovate the space. After Ricky assessed the bathroom, it became clear that a full renovation made the most sense—touching one finish would impact another, and trying to match old materials would be difficult. Ricky took measurements, provided a detailed estimate within a few days, and gave us space to think it through, which we really appreciated. He was never pushy, which is something we valued compared to past experiences with other contractors.

Once we decided to move forward, Ricky quickly scheduled the project, brought in materials, and installed protective coverings throughout the house to minimize disruption. The bathroom was fully demoed and rebuilt to fit our wants and needs. Pricing was transparent, so any upgrades beyond the original scope were clearly outlined. Ricky also communicated where our finishes would be sourced and guided us through the selection process.
This was a messy and involved project, but Ricky and his crew made a genuine effort to keep dust down, clean up regularly, and schedule noisy work around our availability. Like most construction projects, we did experience a few hiccups along the way—but Ricky was always responsive and made things right when issues came up. It’s worth noting that Lester Construction is a small business, so while resources may not always be immediate, the care and accountability made a big difference. The crews were small but efficient.

We did have a situation with cabinetry where the initial spacing wasn’t quite what we envisioned. Ricky allowed us to make changes and reorder materials so the layout was exactly how we wanted it. We also had a glass shower door shatter during installation, and again, the issue was addressed promptly and resolved with a new door. Construction isn’t perfect, and home renovation projects can be tedious—but having a contractor you trust makes the process much smoother.

After about six weeks, we were left with a brand-new bathroom that is beautiful, modern, and highly functional. It fits our home perfectly and is truly night and day from what we had before. Ricky communicated consistently throughout the project, was always accommodating, and even treated our senior dog with care while working in our home.
Despite some challenges, we would absolutely recommend Lester Construction for home improvement projects.

We hired Ricky Lester of Lester Construction for a complete condo remodel and are very pleased with the results. Ricky was easy to work with—courteous, respectful, and attentive to my requests. Unlike some contractors I’ve worked with in the past, he really valued my input.

Our project grew larger than expected (we even ended up doing a full kitchen remodel instead of just replacing cabinet doors). Ricky helped us save money by guiding us to quality pre-fabricated cabinetry, and we love how it turned out!

He was responsive to touch-ups and changes I requested along the way. While the remodel took longer than we hoped, the expanded scope was a big factor. In the end, we’re very happy with our updated condo.

Ricky’s pricing was very reasonable, and I would recommend him to others looking for quality work at a fair price.

I really enjoyed working with Lester Construction. Ricky was great at communication, open to all my idea changes (which were quite a few), and transparent with the next steps. Ricky is a great guy (Eddie too). From the first contact till the end of the remodel, communication was always super fast and professional. The work couldn't be any better. All the time and dedication he spent on our project is appreciated. All paying attention to details. Everything was perfectly done and cleaned at the end, minimal to no dust was left.
