We love our home but spend most of our time inside of it, not outside looking at it. Once we started looking, I discovered that our home was like having a pretty girlfriend and realizing that she has bad breath. Our home was built in the '80s and the wood has been in place the whole time. 40+ years of constant exposure to Oklahoma elements will wear and tear on any wood that old.We knew we were in need of some repairs and called many contractors. We got bids from seven local handyman services in the Tulsa area. The bids ranged from $2,800.00 to $67,000.00. Some folks gave us a bid just stating that they were gonna do this, that or the other thing without any specifics.Only two contractors actually showed up with a measuring tape.Miguel arrived 10 minutes before I was expecting him and I didn't know he was here until I saw him outside on the roof outside our 2nd story office. Miguel was the ONLY person who identified areas of concern which had gone unnoticed (because we never get on the roof and look at our chimney) he was the ONLY one that took measurements and left his inspection with quantifiable number of boards and sizes they would need to replace to repair our home.In their quote they identified exactly how many pieces of wood and what sizes would need to be replaced. Two bonus points for thoroughness and accuracy!The other bids we received ranged from (pph) "deconstructing the entire north side of our house and replacing all the stucco and windows" to "caulk and it repaint bad wood". Miguel listened to our concerns. He inspected our home and gave in detail, what he knew would repair our problems.They were punctual and professional and left the job site (our home) free of debris and looking like new!I hope I don't need anymore home repairs. But if I do, I will give Legacy our business and I would encourage anyone in the Tulsa area who needs home repair or remodeling to give these guys a shot.Their crew work fast and are repairs took a total of five days. I was stunned at how fast they transformed our home.Once they were done, again we had the good fortune of Miguel and his decades of experience as he walked around the job site and pointed out a few minor oversights to us. We could not be happier with the way April Stephens, and Legacy Construction & Remodeling took care of us. Our home looks so much better with the new roof. April and her crew did an amazing job. Having to get a new roof because of storm damage can be pretty stressful, but from beginning to end, April handled everything working directly with our insurance adjuster, it was a very easy process.I was very impressed with the attention to detail when it came to cleaning up after the roof was installed. They did a wonderful job on my shiplap wall and fireplace. The project manager I had, Miguel, was awesome and helped bring my vision to life. The crew worked in a timely manner and did a quality job (framing was perfect/sturdy and the fireplace, mantel, and tv are perfectly center).
My house was severely impacted by the 2023 windstorm that blew through Tulsa. My entire life, I had marveled at the beauty of the silver maple in our backyard. Not only did it provide shade and cool the house tremendously, but it was also the home to quite a variety of cute, little animals my late mother and I used to enjoy together. However, as humans do, trees age. So when we were awakened to one of the loudest noises we have ever heard, we knew what had most likely happened. Our beloved, 75-foot, tree had come crashing down, and crashing down it did! My family home was 70% destroyed and the house where I was raised was nearly unrecognizable. Out of all the devastation, I knew one thing for sure: who to call. My dear friend April. She has been in the roofing and construction field for numerous years and just happens to be my best friend. I have seen her helping family after family so I knew she would know EXACTLY what to do. Not only did she help me talk to the insurance company, but she also helped me get approved for several things that were missed by our adjuster. April and her expertisewent to bat for us with the insurance company and made sure they provided us with the coverage and support a family needs during a time of disaster and devastation. We had to be relocated and I found an Airbnb. April got my insurance company to cover the fee and furnish it for the entirety of the renovation. My father wanted nothing more than to have the house look as it did when my mother was still with us. The ladies at Legacy found wood paneling that is nearly identical to it previously. They hunted for it for weeks but came through. They answered every tedious question along the way. April gave me hope and reassured me when I felt and had just experienced my world crash down around me. She and her team made this gut-wrenching experience easier to navigate and I could not thank her and the hard-working people at Legacy enough. Legacy provides a very personable and friendly touch to the home renovation process. They were communicative, helpful, and encouraging. The roofing was completed in a day and appears to be of excellent quality. Our painting took a little longer than expected with weather delays but was painted very well, with careful attention. They replaced our wood rot with fresh pieces and had a good eye for spotting places that needed repair.
