We completed a full house renovation with Four Brothers in 2025 after a fire had forced us out in early 2024. Four Brothers was EXCEPTIONAL. Their expertise, honesty, efficiency, and designs were outstanding. This was the third major building project we have done on our house, and it was by far the best experience (which is saying a lot especially since it was a complete gut and therefore at least 75% more work than any previous project.) The design team was incredibly creative, hard-working, and open. The admin team was always a pleasure to work with, and completely on top of every detail of the job. The lead builder was so expert on every building thing, and incredibly responsive, trustworthy, and respectful of our home. We are SO grateful that someone referred Four Brothers to us, and we wholeheartedly recommend them and would use them again.

Our experience with Four Brothers was wonderful from start to finish. We renovated our kitchen and converted a living room to a library with built ins. Our design process with Sondra was great and she has a great eye for layouts and how to make a room work. I also appreciated there wasn’t a constant upsell during the initial quote process unlike other design firms I got quotes from. The actual renovation also went really well - their lead carpenter Kyre was very skilled and excellent at his craft. Everything stayed on time with no major delays. As with any renovation we had a couple small bumps in the road but any concerns were addressed promptly without issue. We are very happy with both rooms and look forward to using them for a long time.

We used Four Brothers to design and renovate a 3 bedroom condo in Cleveland Park, DC. in the latter part of 2023. Kristin Winn Weinrich was our project head/designer. She really helped us to visualize the effect of moving walls and really opening up the main living spaces. She was terrific. The six month project included a new kitchen, two new bathrooms, new electrical, new HVAC, redoing and fixing old wood floors, removing several walls and flipping the location of the master bedroom and living room. We were delayed by DC permitting for many weeks, and the actual construction took around four months. They did a great job. They are not inexpensive (higher than we were hoping but consistent with other quotes), but they held to the agreed budget with some additional design work that we asked for and some DC required lead abatement work by a DC designated firm. We have been really pleased with the quality of their work. They were great on following up on completion punch list items. If you are looking for high quality at competitive pricing, we highly recommend Four Brothers!

Four Brothers, LLC thoughtfully redesigned and skillfully performed a total renovation of our 1300 square foot condo in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood of DC. And they did it while we were absent; living and working in Africa. We followed their lead as they represented us getting building permits from the DC government. As 4 Brothers developed floorplans we received clear drawings and options to choose from via Internet and worked with them to fine tune the plan. As it came time to select materials we had a few preferences that 4 Brothers acted upon and in other cases, 4 Brothers provided us good options from which to choose. Communications flowed extremely well between DC and Africa. Throughout the project we trusted their recommendations on layout, materials, changes, kitchen and bathroom fixtures, flooring and a significant soundproofing effort. We were thrilled with the results.

With Alfred as lead on construction, Tamar overseeing details of interior finishes and Ben as our interface, 4 Brothers employees and teams of high quality sub-contractors worked with small spaces, difficult access, challenging aspects of the original building design, and even cranky neighbors, to ensure that our condo would be ready for occupancy when we returned from Africa. Each of the Four Brothers team members made us feel that our job was their most important. As we worked together by email and phone calls to make final decisions on infrastructure and finishing, and to accommodate our desire for some unique features such as an acacia wood bar that we shipped from Africa (a later challenge for Alfred and Phil to install). 4 Brothers excellent design and craftsmanship was accompanied by good documentation, honest assessments, and cost estimates that did not grow. And they were waiting for us the Saturday morning of our return to the United States to introduce us to our totally new home. We enthusiastically recommend 4 Brothers, LLC.
