In an era when customer service, quality workmanship and communication appear to be all but scarce, working with Matt and his team for our whole scale main floor renovation was an outstanding experience.Matt is a caring and conscientious leader, with exemplary communication skills who is open to any new ideas thrown his way, innovative with how to utilize our space and extremely adaptable to any changes that came up along the way. It is evident the team of employees and contractors that are part of the Valdek team are chosen thoughtfully and with a growth mindset for longevity in the industry. We saw firsthand that Matt's expectations of his team were of the highest standard, and he was keen to problem solve through any issues that arose along the way until all parties were satisfied with the result.One of the biggest surprises and reliefs in a project of this size was the strict sense of time management that was adhered to, whether that meant shifting from one trade to another or re-imagining the flow of the project. Daily progress photos and updates were provided to us, as well as clearly communicated changes and transparent next steps. Our site was left clean and tidy at the end of each day, ready for the next phase. I was considering this company for a project. Then I looked up some of the pictures on their website and they're from houses in the states that have nothing to do with this company. I can't trust someone with hundreds of thousands of dollars who misrepresents their work. If you take down every picture of work that you did not do from your website, I will take this review down.This is in response to their response:Claiming other companies also use potentially misleading pictures on their website is fallacious reasoning and not a valid argument. I wouldn't use them either if I caught them. Claiming they are inspirational pictures is just weak. You have been in business 10 years, you should have done lots of work by now that should inspire potential clients.I do not know anything about the quality of work you do. What I do know is that having investigated your company, I found pictures of not your jobs on your website.It is up to people who rely on reviews to make informed decisions on who they choose to hire, and this is a misleading practice that I had to share.You will not find a Whopper on McDonald's website. If you have pictures of your work on social media, why not use those pictures?I am a reasonable man, cite the pictures or take them down and I will gladly delete this review. You've actually been quite polite. Email me when you have done so and I will do it instantly.Thank you.
Valdek Construction was always professional, prompt and willing to answer any questions we may have a had with the Reno of our new office building. They went above and beyond with everything and made sure they sought out the best products that fit within budget. We are so pleased with their work! Everything looks great. We met Matt at the Home Renovation show and asked him to come look at and give us a quote for removing a structural wall in our home.- the Valdek quoting process was clear and transparent.- Matt was very supportive through a few stressful moments.- the Valdek team showed up on time, and worked intensely through the day.- We lived in the house during the work. Valdek Construction brought a level of professionalism that ensured my project was done on time and on budget. They were very responsive to every issue / concern we brought up and made every effort to ensure we would be truly happy with the end result. They took our vision and made it a reality.
