I knew when I bought the house that the roof would need replacing in a few years, and that time had come. In addition to replacing the shingles on both the house and the garage, the sheathing needed to be replaced (the old sheathing had a mold problem), the attic ventilation needed improving (hence the mold), the gutters were in bad shape, and the fascia on the garage was obviously decaying. A.H. Construction took care of all of it, and I am quite pleased with the results.I went with A.H. Construction after getting several quotes because they made a thorough inspection and offered the best price, with a fully itemized proposal. Sammy was very communicative whenever something unexpected came up (ex. some sections of the house fascia also needed replacement), and when I noticed a spot where a stray nail had pierced some siding, his team took care of it (fortunately, I had some extra siding on hand). The updated attic ventilation should prevent future mold problems, and the new gutters and gutter guards look great.Overall, I am very pleased with the work Sammy and his team did, and if I had to do it over again, I would make the same pick. If you're in the AA/Ypsi area and looking for a roofing contractor, I would definitely recommend checking out A.H. Construction.(And in case you were wondering, the shingle color is Slatestone Gray.)
Sammy came to give me a quote and said he would also come to check on everything everyday and/or his dad Sammy Sr. would be there. We had some issues with mold and rotted wood as well as a sofit we weren’t sure what was going on inside. Sammy and his dad were there each day and contacted me with anything they ran into. They sent pictures of what they found and the work they did. Sammy gave me choices about what they could do to fix things so I could save money but still get the job done and done well. I was truly very happy with the workers every day. They knew what they were doing and did great carpentry work on top of the roofing. We also got gutters done which look great and was reasonably priced. It was amazing how well everything went and how reasonable the cost was. A.H. Construction gave us the best quote and they did a great job. I highly recommend them. I’ve had other large jobs done on my house and never felt as confident in how things were being done as I did with A.H. Construction. They kept me informed every step of the way and had pictures to show what they found and what they did. This was really great since I saw pictures of the venting, the boards before and after, etc.
A.H. Construction recently replaced my roof following a storm & wind damage, and they did a phenomenal job. Ali and Sammy are friendly and took the time to explain every part of what can be a complicated process. They were honest, genuinely wanted to help, and hired/trained a great crew who put their all into the job.Would HIGHLY recommend this local/family business, and look forward to working with them again in the future if needed.

This time, the roofing job was handled by his son, Mr. Sammy Huwio, who upheld the same high standards. Both father and son have been a pleasure to work with, always consulting with us throughout the process to ensure everything met our expectations. The tradition of excellent craftsmanship and customer care clearly runs in the family!Overall, we are very satisfied with their service and would highly recommend them to anyone in need of roof work!
I had a great experience with AH Construction. Every part of the process was clear and well done. Sam provided a fair estimate and recommended some new venting. The quote was very reasonable.The most important part of all, was the roof work and AH was exceptional. There was damage on the roof (I did it the last time myself) and they let me know about it and gave me options on how they could handle it. They showed me everything they did and did a superb job. The roofers were pleasant and hardworking. I would recommend AH to anyone in the area. I’ve used big roofing companies before and they were fine. But AH did a better job for a better price.
