I encourage anyone considering Master Roofing to conduct thorough research before moving forward. Our experience involved workmanship concerns, communication challenges, and what we believe were questionable business practices. We hired Master Roofing to repair a small flat roof section (under 300 square feet) where it ties into our high-pitched concrete tile roof. The area was leaking, and we were told the project would take approximately two days. After paying the initial deposit, we were surprised on installation day when the company requested the remaining $7,000 balance upfront before work began. We declined to pay in full prior to progress or completion. The roof was ultimately completed, and final payment was made. Approximately one week later, following a light rain, the same area began leaking again. To their credit, they responded promptly and applied mastic to what they identified as the source of the issue. Two weeks later, during a heavy rainstorm, a different section of the flat roof failed, resulting in significant interior water intrusion. Calls to the owner went unanswered for two days. When Mr. Schulz eventually responded, he attributed the leak to our existing pitched roof rather than their recent work. After extended discussions regarding responsibility and scope—and ultimately involving legal counsel—the company agreed to address the interior water damage and replaced the flat roof section for a second time. Since that replacement, we have experienced additional rain and the leaking appears to have stopped. While the immediate issue may now be resolved, the overall experience was extremely frustrating. We found the crew’s demeanor unprofessional at times, and communications from Mr. Schulz often focused on encouraging a full roof replacement rather than addressing the specific contracted repair. Before hiring this company, I recommend reviewing their history on the Contractors State License Board (CSLB) website and carefully evaluating any current complaints or disputes. Roofing is a significant investment, and homeowners should make informed decisions. For transparency, I have also posted after-photos documenting the condition in which the project was left, including an exposed white strip of roofing underlayment extending beyond the tile line, excess silicone residue, visible footprints, and roofing nails left on the roof surface.

Master Roofing Inc took care of our old leaky roof pretty fast and the whole crew was super friendly. They explained what they were doing in simple terms, showed up on time and left our yard cleaner than before, really happy with how everything turned out.

Called them after work about a stubborn drip near the hallway ceiling. They booked a next day walkthrough and gave a clear written estimate before any work began.The crew arrived on time, laid tarps to protect the plants, and cleaned up thoroughly so I did not find stray nails. The following rain came and went without a sound from that spot. Easy five stars.
