Prior to the storm that caused damage, one of my friends had sent me information about Roof Pro. I was very happy my friend (realtor) had recommended this company. I called after we had had a hail storm,

Josh was out a day or two after contacting them. They did a great job replacing the roof and made sure everything was up to current code. I had to have decking added (reasonably priced) to bring it up to code. I also had to have new vents and guttering. This was quite a hail storm, large hail and lots of it!
I had the old type turbines replaced with the newer, solar powered vent. One did the job of the two I had. Looks much neater and is not seen from the street.
Tear off cleaned up quickly; gutters, downspouts replaced quickly. Area thoroughly cleaned/checked for nails before leaving.
Josh answered any questions/concerns I had promptly.

If I know of anyone looking for roofers, I recommend Roof Pro and Josh without hesitation. Should the need arise again, they will be my first call. Couldn’t ask for a better company or representative.

Roof Pro Local - What a Bunch of Malarkey!

On September 24th, 2024, we experienced our first major hailstorm in Oklahoma. In just 10 minutes, the hail damaged every roof over several blocks. I learned that the average lifespan of a roof in Oklahoma is 7 to 8 years, primarily due to hailstorms. In the four years we had lived here, we had not experienced any damaging hail, but in 2023, the city of Norman faced grapefruit-sized hail that not only pierced roofs but also damaged every car parked outside. This event made it clear to me that hail is a serious issue in Oklahoma.

Within an hour of the hailstorm, roofers canvassed the neighborhoods, handing out their cards and making various promises. My neighbors began contacting their insurance companies to file claims for the roof damage, and I followed suit by reaching out to my insurance agent, Lance, at Brandon Rondon Insurance. Lance dispatched a representative from Roof Pro Local, a roofer they work with and recommend. Josh, a representative from Roof Pro Local, came to assess the damage to our roof. Lance also contacted my homeowner’s insurance company, Openly, to file the claim.

From start to finish, Josh was there at every step. He and the insurance adjuster explained the extent of the hail damage, which I had not fully understood before their assessment. Josh informed us that they use shingles from a locally manufactured company called Malarkey, rather than the industry standard from GAF. Malarkey produces some of the best high-impact shingles in Oklahoma, a necessity given the frequent roof replacements in the state.

The roofers did an excellent job. They worked in perfect harmony, with one team removing the old shingles while another cleaned up the debris. The supervisor in charge even went into our attic to ensure that no vital hoses, gas lines, or air conditioning ducts would be affected by the nails used. Since my roof was 10 years old, it needed an overlay of wood installed on top of the existing structure to meet code requirements. As shown in the photos, multiple sheets of plywood were carried up and secured to our roof. The roofing process was nearly completed in one day, but they ran out of daylight. The next morning, they finished the roofing work and thoroughly cleaned the entire perimeter, making sure no shingles or nails were left behind.

Two days later, Josh sent out the gutter team to install new gutters, which matched our color scheme almost perfectly. They did a fantastic job and even added an extra downspout due to the size of our roof. A few days after the gutters were installed, we experienced a rainstorm and noticed a leak at one of the corner seams. I informed Josh, and he sent the gutter team back out to seal that area. Since then, during another rainstorm, that area no longer leaked.

Heath from The Fireplace Guys also came out to install a new chimney top damaged by hail.

As mentioned earlier, my homeowner's insurance is with Openly. From the moment they received the claim to the final closure of the case, they addressed our every need and covered all costs except for the deductible. This experience was fantastic, and I would highly recommend Roof Pro Local. While they use Malarkey shingles, there is no malarkey with this company.
