?? Avoid Advanced Roofing! They subcontracted my job (2008/2009) without telling me, left nails all over my property, and my “new” roof leaked in three spots soon after. When I complained, they blamed it on “harsh winters” instead of fixing their work. Even the BBB couldn’t help. Save yourself the stress—go with a reputable roofer.

We do not recommend Advanced Roofing and regret hiring them to replace our cedar roof with rubber shakes. Here are the key reasons:

1) Major oversight on roof ventilation: The most serious issue was the improper installation of roof vents. Our contract specified an additional 5 vents to our 3 existing vents to meet code requirements (so 8 vents in total) but only 3 were initially installed. The roof inspection checklist incorrectly stated there were eight vents installed. We only discovered the missing vents through our own review of drone photos and flagging this oversight. This severely damaged our trust in their work.

2) Poor communication after signing: We received a lower quote from another company that included more upgrades, but we went with Advanced Roofing because we appreciated how thorough and communicative Chris, the lead estimator, was. Unfortunately, the communication from Advanced Roofing dropped off a cliff after we signed the contract. We had read reviews mentioning poor scheduling, lack of communication, and subpar cleanup, but Chris reassured us that those wouldn’t be issues. In hindsight, we should have trusted the reviews. We were handed off to Gil, the operations manager, who did not respond to our emails or keep us informed during the installation. His first appearance was an unannounced visit to our house to collect the final payment. We understand that it states in the contract that payment is due upon completion of the room, but this felt abrupt and unprofessional, especially as he did not attempt to address a concern we had previously raised through email. We also had to remind him about an Euroshield inspection, which we had discussed with Chris, had not yet been scheduled. Gil seemed unaware of this but agreed to arrange it, further highlighting internal communication issues.Afterward, when we followed up with Gil about the inspection and shared other concerns, he tried to address them, but the response felt slow and dismissive.

3) Unacceptable cleanup: After the roof was installed, we found debris, including staples, roofing scraps, plastic, cigarette butts, and even an empty cigarette box, despite being promised a thorough cleanup. We have a dog, and we had emphasized that debris posed a safety risk. We had to request return visits for cleanup...they took so long to come back, we had to pick up a lot of the debris ourselves.

4) Other concerns: The tear-off was disorganized and unsafe, no one warned us that we wouldn’t be able to safely exit our home while debris was being thrown from the roof. We were nearly hit by falling wood while trying to leave.

We had a downspout that was knocked out of place during the installation. Gil said he would arrange for someone to fix it. Shortly after, we also flagged the missing roof vents. After several follow-ups with no action, a different crew (not the original installers) was eventually sent weeks later. They fixed the downspout, installed the missing vents, and even addressed additional issues they discovered.

For such an expensive service, the lack of communication and major oversights were incredibly frustrating and disappointing. We strongly recommend choosing a different roofing company.

I want to say a big Thank You to the entire team at Advanced Roofing System Ltd. My situation I feel was unique, I needed professionals. I placed a phone call to Advanced Roofing system and talked with estimater. They couldn’t give me an estimate at that point due to my situation, but they assured me that someone would call me back. I received a phone call back and after a couple questions I was assured I would get estimate. After I received estimate, I knew they genuinely wanted to help me and a huge stress was lifted off my shoulders.When I received the estimate I was shocked how reasonably priced it was. I gave my approval and Advanced Roofing took over from there product showed up the next day and an install team within three days and completed that day. There was no run around or unanswered questions or empty promises just sincere staff that are genuine. A HUGE thank you to the install team, they explained to me what would be happening and kept me informed as the day went by. I can’t say enough about the install team they were very friendly and professional. Again a huge thank you to them.
After the job was done I received the bill, it was what they said it would be. Now my concern was to get it paid seeing how I don’t use credit cards and work 11 hr days. But yet again Advanced Roofing had my back and sent a rep to my work to collect the bank draft. At the same time they brought me my paperwork explaining warranties.
One more shout out to Donovan and Jade you two rock, thank you for your attention to detail during install.

Let's start with the good and work our way down...
Kelvin's team did a great job. They were respectful, did good work, and when I pointed out a minor deficiency, they fixed it with no questions asked. Kelvin gets 5 stars.
It took some time to get started for sure. Chris was quick to respond and get the job moving. Shortly after I contacted them and requested work to start, shingles were on my driveway within a day or 2, as expected. A couple days later, a crew showed up, then promptly left with no explanation. I had to call the office to get any form of information. Gil explained everything, which I was pleased with, but the shingles sat on my driveway a week until I received threats from my neighbours who were going to complain to by law... Overall, poor communication. I didn't ask for miracles, but just to know what was going on and when I could expect something. Once the job was underway, it was relatively smooth sailing. But now the job is completed (about 2 weeks now) and I still have garbage and equipment littering my yard (pics attached). I have shingles in my gutters, nails and garbage strewn all over my yard and neighbour's yards from a windstorm, and my neighbour even stepped on a nail while mowing his lawn and his foot got all infected. Gil told me they'd be at my place on Friday June 18 to finish their cleanup, but another no-show. I think I got all the nails, but I'd imagine they'd like to get their equipment back? I have no use for it...
In the end, my roof was re-shingled, it looks good, but it wasn't what i had expected. Maybe it was just a one-off, as these guys have pretty good reviews, but we're less than impressed.

We used this company to replace our garage roof shingles. They were easy to work with, explained the process, supplies and work involved so it was easy to understand. Price quote was great and lower than other companies that we received quotes from. Their turn around time from quote to completion was fast and the work itself was done quickly and they cleaned up great after. 10/10 would recommend.
