Decent end result. Lack of professionalism, preparedness, and punctuality. We bought a house that needed a new roof. The roof was done as part of the sale and was done well. The end result on that is good.Being as they did the roof and did a decent job, it made sense to bring them back for a routine installation of two sun tunnelsThat's where things go downhill. The appointment was scheduled a month in advance. Come installation day, the two guys, whom I will not name here, were over an hour and a half late. When they finally rolled up, they were both in personal, unmarked vehicles. Not very professional, but also not a big deal. Just throwing it out there. From the moment they arrived, it seemed as though they didn't quite have all they needed to complete the job. At various points during the job, they asked to use my trash bags, vacuum cleaner, broom, and silicone sealant. All basic supplies that a company hired to do a routine installation should have come prepared with by default. At the end of the job, they used my broom and vacuum during cleanup, as I mentioned earlier. I was elsewhere in the house working on another project, so I wasn't supervising them to ensure a good job was done. After all, that shouldn't be necessary when paying a contractor to do a job. And a thorough cleanup is a part of that job. Most would agree with that.At this point it's also worth mentioning that, having just bought the house, we had a trailer full of "mementos" left from the previous owner ready to go to the landfill. I gave the guys permission to use it for disposal of waste since it's all going to the same place anyway. I'm a reasonable guy like that. I'm not going to drive a hard line and make them take all the small bits with them even though that, too, would have been a reasonable expectation. Well, after they left, I discovered in the trailer loose cardboard boxes not even broken down and bits of plastic that all would have surely blown out driving down the road. Awesome. (not).Back to the interior cleanup: After they left and I finished up my project, I ventured upstairs to find every surface in my kitchen and living room still covered in a very noticeable layer of dust from the cutting of holes in the ceiling and the handling of the blow-in insulation in the attic. And, being as they didn't come prepared with ANY cleaning supplies, the floor, which they used my vacuum and broom to "clean", was also covered in dust. My partner and I had to spend the next hour-plus dusting and wiping down our counters, furniture, and table just to have a clean place to eat a late-evening dinner. This is all unacceptable from a company hired to do a job. Affordable is accurate in their company name, BUT it should not come at the expense of a job well-done.I would hesitate to recommend these guys based on my experience. When I pay someone to do a job, I expect the entire job to be done, from start to finish. They did not deliver on the full finish, but I paid the whole price.Keep that in mind as you shop around.-Jacob
Thank you so much for the wonderful job you did on replacing the roof on my mobile home. I was very impressed with the quality and professionalism of the company. The crew worked very hard the whole time they were here.I am also very grateful of how understanding the office staff was of my financial situation and their willingness to work with me in a payment arrangement I was comfortable with. It meant the world to me.I highly recommend them for anyone needing a roof replacement.Sincerely, Sondra Cucarola
Affordable Roofing installed the reroofing due to hail damage on our residence in Laramie. The entire process from the initial inspection and estimation by Mike McCarrel through the installation by the roofing crew led by Project Manager Jackson Simpson and foreman Juan Pablo was conducted efficiently, courteously, and professionally. Despite a large number of local claims and resulting roofing product shortages, timely scheduling and response by Kim Trionfera, Production Manager and Jennifer Johnson, Service Coordinator insured our project was completed in a reasonable timeframe (pending final insurance settlement). Special shoutout to Juan Pablo and his crew in their thorough and careful attention to protect and remove waste from our landscaping and adjacent structures, in their courteous and diligent work ethic, and in addressing our specials concerns towards an existing construction flashing defect.
When Shannon first came to my front door, and we spoke a bit, I pretty much knew right away that I wanted Affordable to do the work.Like Shannon, Ethan, who is managing the job, was just as authentic and caring as Shannon. The job was done in a day and a half with roofers who were friendly and careful to not only do the roof right but to clean up my front yard, nicely. Instead of a tarp, they used netting to cover the garage, so that air could flow through, which I greatly appreciated. This is my first experience with roofers on a home that I own, and I would hire them again in a New York second. All in all it was a great experience and my roof looks awesome!
We had the recent misfortune of having Affordable Roofing replace the roof next door to us. What I learned was that being an accommodating neighbor led to full blown exploitation by this company.First, I came home to discover that the crew had let themselves into my closed off backyard without permission. Keep in mind, I am the neighbor NOT the client.Second, after I allowed them to continue working in the backyard and being told that all debris would be removed, I came home a second time to discover that the tarp they had been using to collect falling material had been moved to the neighbor’s driveway, and that nails, cigarette butts, and trash were scattered about in my yard and air conditioning unit. Additionally, now my front yard had tools, equipment, and trash scattered across it. If someone came driving by, they would have assumed our house was the one having work done on it.Third, when I spoke to the crew that this was unacceptable and needed to be rectified, I was met with looks of contempt, as apparently trashing the neighbor’s yard is normal business for Affordable Roofing.Lastly, when I called the office, they put me in touch with the project manager, who apologized and assured me that the crew would make sure to pick up all the nails and trash before they left and that there would be a final walkthrough the following day, where the person conducting the inspection would speak with me and confirm everything had been cleaned up. Two days have now passed, no one has come by. Moreover, we had an event at our house on Sunday, where children playing in the backyard kept running in to the house to hand us nails they had found.I highly recommend this company if you want to sour relations with your neighbors.
