These guys are the real deal. 100% Legit. Before getting Solar panels installed I was told that the underlayment on my roof was old, crumbling and needed to be replaced. This is not something I wanted to hear as I didn't want the added expense nor did I want to deal with delays from roofing companies. I sent the job request to 5 companies. Mels responded quickly and sent someone out the following day. He inspected my roof. Not like some inspectors he walked softly, not to damage anymore tiles on my roof. Later that same day he emailed a proposal that included pictures and explanations of what I was looking at. This was super helpful. In addition to their quick response they offered the lowest quote. Once I signed the quote they scheduled the work to be done less than a week later. His team showed up and got it done. I thought the job would take a couple of weeks...nope they were done in 3 days. This means from receiving the quote to job being finished was about a week. This included getting the Permits required by the city. They also replaced several cracked tiles. My roof looks fabulous. I would not hesitate to hire them again. They are super professional, had the lowest quote, scheduled and completed the job in a week, did a great job, made the whole process easy. What more can you ask for.

Working with Mel's Roofing was excellent. My home has a low slope roof with no attic space; flat roof design. It had tar and gravel roofing and a thin amount of insulation. This design caused the roof to conduct and radiate heat in the summer; heating the home drastically. I wanted energy efficient roofing, that would reflect sunlight, and insulation added to the design. Mel Cervantes worked with me and came up with a plan that achieved my goals. I did a lot of research, shopped around with other roofers, and asked Mel a lot of questions before signing a contract with Mel's Roofing. His communication and patience with me was great through the entire process. After much thought, I came to the decision that I wanted a single-ply membrane roof with poly-foam insulation board for a better R-value. Mel's Roofing was the only company that offered PVC single-ply membrane roofing within my price range. We agreed to install five inches of polyiso foam, styrofoam over the eaves, a 60 mil IB brand PVC membrane, and new gutters; see attached photos. Mel welcomed me onto my roof with him, to show and discuss the project, multiple times through the process. Mel's team did great work with a great attention to detail. When last-minute changes came up, like the idea for rain chains instead of gutters on a few drain spout locations, Mel was flexable and accommodating. The new roof is quality work and we are very happy with the end result. We would absolutely work with Mel's roofing again in the future.

Old Home Disclaimer: If you have an old home with a plank style roof decking/ceiling be aware that a new roof construction may cause debris to fall between the board gaps and into the home. This was a big issue for our home that we were not prepared for. This design flaw in our home was no fault of Mel's Roofing; just a potential problem for homeowners to be wary of.
