I had someone from Southern Roofing & Renovations come out and check my gutters for possible repair or replacement. I was told that I would get an estimate by noon the next day. I never got it. I called a couple of days later and was told someone would contact me the next morning. I never heard back at all. Completely ghosted.
Please do not use Southern Roofing. We were contacted by Michael Smith in March, 2025. He started the process with our insurance company to get a new roof. Southern kept going back and trying to get our insurance company to pay more money. They tried to get us to upgrade the roof. Michael left the company. We then got Alex. He was fired. We finally got the roof on June 23. It was curling around the edge. I asked the installers, and they said it would lay down in a couple of days. Weeks went by. I kept call and sending pictures. I sent emails asking them to send my insurance the final invoice. That fell through the cracks. Someone came out and he said it would lay down. He hammered a little on it. They finally called about picking up the final check. They said the roof wasn't under warranty, and they couldn't do anything until they were paid. They didn't show or call. I called last week to ask them to come out. They didn't get back. I have been calling this week and haven't heard back. I have had other roofers leave their cards on the front door. They can't even tell it is a new roof. They are the worst. I would not trust them. They do not stand behind their word.
I would have put a better review had they not swindled me out of an additional $3000. The initial quote for anything extra outside of my insurance was $1900, that's what I signed the contract for. They went back to my insurance and haggled them up to $4700. Be careful with this company, you'll lose money, and you won't even have the professionalism to go with it. I've been finding roofing nails all over my yard! (which they said they would "scan" for) thankfully none of my kids have stepped on any. When I first started the project, I had one contractor, and then he left and I wasn't notified of ANYTHING going on with the project...when the money was due, when I would get my paperwork...nothing. I literally had to text the man, just to be told he left the company and I should contact "so 'n so" about what was going on because "he thought it had all been handled". Then I was tossed around some more...at which point they made it abundantly clear that they had no idea what they were doing and were still able to nab me for extra money.... they're a crap company and if I could leave less than 1 star, I would.
My insurance agent was singing your praises! She was so impressed with the thorough proposal you presented! She said no one else has gone to the trouble to send both pictures of the sample repair, much less a video! She was truly impressed with your professionalism and knowledge. I told her how blessed I felt that Southern Roofing was recommended and I, too, have been impressed with both Joseph Foster and Hayden Wyatt. They truly showed care for customer satisfaction! Great communication as well. Kudos to both Joseph and Hayden! They are a definite asset to Southern Roofing. I would highly recommend Southern Roofing!
Southern Roofing and Renovations did a great job getting my roof paid for and replaced after storm and hail damage occurred. The new roof looks great and Brent Jackson did a great job staying in contact with me throughout the process. Shoutout to the inspectors Corey Robinson and Aaron Owens on their job working with my insurance company to make sure everything went accordingly.
