JR and Nokomis Roofing truly have the highest integrity and quality. We have relied on JR and Nokomis at two separate houses for roofing issues. Rather than try to upsell into work that was not required, he actually down-sold and told us honestly that we did not need a new roof and there was a less expensive solution. In fact, in his last visit - on a Saturday evening in response to a panicked call - he came out, calmed our fears, told us we did not need any work done, AND WOULD NOT ACCEPT A SINGLE CENT. We cannot recommend JR and Nokomis more - in a world where everyone is trying to pull one over on you, JR and Nokomis are in a class of their own.
I interviewed several companies when I needed to replace my roof, and when I met J.R. at Nokomis Roofing I knew I had found the right one. He was not dismissive of my small, old house, he had suggestions to save me money, and his quote was accurate and fair. The crew did great work and cleaned up after themselves very well. It was such a relief to find a local, trustworthy contractor for this major investment. Very happy!
I highly recommend Nokomis Roofing. I contacted JR, the owner, for help about water seeping into my dining room. JR could have told me the problem was due to the roof and gutters and led me down that path as other companies had that I had contacted. JR told me that was not the problem and that it was due to my exterior window box. JR gave me a referral to another contractor that could do the work at a reasonable price. JR was transparent with me about the root cause without trying to sell me a roof and gutters that I didn't need - unlike the other companies I had contacted. The contractor he referred me to did an excellent job and completed the work addressing the root cause at a reasonable price - not selling me something that wouldn't fix the problem.
I had my shingles replaced on my 1914 house in South Minneapolis. JR responded to my request for a bid, talked through the process and we had installation scheduled within a week.JR presented a realistic bid and was a good communicator. I took special note of his appreciation and respect for the workmanship and character of older homes. He knew his crew very well.The job was done in one day with a few more hours for the garage. His crew cleaned up my yard and that of the neighbors. I am thrilled that this project was completed so efficiently.You don't need a roofing company very often so knowing who to trust seemed the greatest challenge. Storm chasers call and knock on my door weekly. It was a pleasure to find Nokomis Roofing and refreshing to work with people who value integrity.
I highly recommend Nokomis Roofing. JR was responsive with his evaluation and provided a bid that was quite reasonable. As soon as weather conditions improved Oscar and his crew arrived and addressed the issues. They removed an exhaust pipe/vent, old wooden electrical mast, TV antenna. There also was a repair done improperly and poorly by another contractor a year ago. They removed the poorly installed repair and did it right. Oscar also noticed an issue we hadn’t noticed before and for very little more cost he made it right.JR shingles are a great match! The roof looks great. Don’t hesitate to call Nokomis Roofing.
