From the time Gerry came out to provide an estimate through the completion of my roof replacement, I found working with Gerry to be a pleasure. He came prepared, answered questions directly, showed up when scheduled and completed the job on time. When I received the invoice it was exactly as quoted. I would recommend Gerry and Adept Construction with zero reservations.
Gerry was great to work with and did a fantastic job in replacing and repairing the copper roof over the living room area of our house. We would happily work with Gerry and Adept Construction on future roofing projects.
I will acknowledge I am not a customer of this business and now I never will be. This company was hired to do our neighbor's roofing work and in the process has done serious damage to our property.1. They smashed one of our windows and didn't even acknowledge it until we confronted them about it, at which point they've now told us it will be two weeks before we can expect it to be replaced! All they've offered us in the meantime is a cardboard box and some duct tape.2. They've trampled multiple garden beds, including our perennial border, snapping branches off of our full-sized lilac, and worst of all completely flattening a bed of nearly three-decade old established Hostas. When asked about this, the jerk in charge simply brushed it off by saying "it'll regrow in a couple weeks." Excuse me??3. They've thrown trash and roofing junk all over our lawn and driveway, not to mention parking on our lawn, scraping up our siding and paved walkways, and just... Generally having a simple disregard for trespassing.All of this without even a warning or a notice to us that they'd be working.I think that because this is an older house owned and inhabited by older people, the owner thinks we will not kick up a fuss about his company's actions. Or perhaps he thinks we are simply acceptable collateral damage as long as his paying client doesn't care.So if you see your neighbors as collateral damage, feel free to hire this company. They might be right up your alley.
Adept Construction & Roofing was truly fantastic to work with. When we started the process of getting bids to repair our roof, I felt very unsettle & skeptical. It was expensive and all the contractors seemed to be so aggressive in their approach asking us to sign contracts before we even had the insurance quoted from the adjuster. One sales rep was willing to just low ball the bid to get the job, which left us feeling like we’d only get the quality that insurance would pay for. We ultimately got 4 bids on the roof job & Gerry was the only one that really talked us through the process and gave us comfort in how it worked with insurance vs what we ultimately pay for out of pocket. Gerry was very honest and straightforward. We appreciated working with the and Gerry’s small business, customer centered approach. We really liked that he gave the option to outsourced another company to work with the insurance company on our behalf and ensure the job was properly covered. That ended up being so helpful in ensuring we were able to get the insurance company to provide all funds needed to properly redo the roof. Gerry’s team handled everything for us from beginning to end- he handled working with the insurance adjuster & then going back to them for additional money when our home is very old & the roof actually required way more work than expected. Gerry Team was flexible to accommodate the dates we requested, they cleaned everything up- so no nails or debris was left in our yard (with three small children, that was very appreciated). When Covid hit and we were unable to finish parts of the job (paint/blind bids), Gerry’s team continued to help us navigate the insurance claim months later. We truly had a wonderful experience and highly recommend working with Adept Construction.
