I contacted Strategic Roofing by email in early September, 2020 to ask for a quote for a 14'x12' gable roof over the entry of our home. I included photos and rough measurements in the email. I had to follow up over several weeks by phone, leaving messages with the secretary, just to have someone come look at the roof in question. When someone finally did show up (nearer the end of September), they said they would be in touch with a quote by the end of the week, but I never received anything. I, again, spent several weeks trying to follow up by phone, with the secretary leaving my file on the desk of the individual who should be contacting me (I never got a name or had the opportunity to speak to this person). It wasn't until November 23rd that I finally received a quote by email, and to my amazement it was for an astonishing $3800 with no documented measurements (which, again, I had provided by email and were surely collected during the site visit in September) or calculation as to how that sum was reached! Shouldn't that be the cost of say, the whole roof of my house, not the small gable of the entryway? Or am I totally underappreciating how much it costs to slap a few new shingles on an otherwise OK roof? I emailed back stating that there must be some confusion about the job I have requested - I don't want the whole roof done, just the one separate section - and I never received a response. Clearly my little job was not a priority.
Obviously I did not use this company given their incompetence and dreadful communication and customer service.
Do yourself a favour and go with a different strategy other than Strategic Roofing. You'll only be disappointed with how much time and energy you've wasted chasing after them with zero results or help.

I first requested a quote in Sept or Oct of last year for repairs to sheeting & replacement of shingles as well as rebuilding the back left ladder truss that was broken off, replace the damaged area of soffit & fascia on my garage. After receiving the quote & agreeing to the price, they showed up in Dec without any contact. When I first did the walk around for the quote, I had some requests: 1) to be notified in advance when they would show up so I could move items in the garage away from where the sheeting was damaged to prevent anything from falling onto them & remove my truck from the garage 2) requested that entire sheets of plywood be replaced as opposed to just cutting & patching the damaged sheets to prevent sawdust from entering & falling onto my car that was parked for winter.

I woke up after a night shift in Dec to find the entire garage soffit and fascia was stripped, not just the section that was missing as per requested. I specifically requested that the eavestrough not be replaced as I was only missing a 3 ft section & had planned to fix it myself, but now I no longer have any eavestrough as they removed it all. I was also left with all of the stripped materials in the snow. The removal cost was part of the quote. The finish of the soffit and fascia was horribly done.

Later, I found out the soffit and fascia was subcontracted out after complaining about the finish to the owner of the subcontracted company came by & requested to wait until it was warmer to fix & remove everything (It was Feb). I agreed & he gave me his business card. No one ever showed up.

Strategic roofing showed up mid Dec to complete the roof & repairs to the sheeting. I was not contacted prior to them showing up & they ignored the request of entire sheets of plywood be replaced. This caused sawdust, etc to fall on my car, as I did not have the opportunity ahead of time. Not all of the damaged areas of the sheeting were addressed as I pointed out to the owner when he came by later. My new car cover was ruined as it was fleece & all of the sawdust and debris were in the fibres. I was previously in contact with the general manager & after showing the evidence of the damage; she refunded me the cost of the car cover.

When I went in to pay the remainder of my bill, the general manager no longer worked for the company & the people I dealt with there tried to recharge me for the initial amount before the cost of replacing the car cover despite having the emails to prove otherwise. They eventually did honor the reduction in cost & I asked when could I expect the remaining debris to be collected which they knew nothing about.

I waited until the snow had melted to get my pictures of all the debris left behind & quality of work to post my initial review of this company. Later, the owner of the company, who wanted to know the full story, contacted me. I agreed to meet him, as he sounded sincere about getting the issues fixed. We walked around the garage & he told me of how they no longer dealt with the subcontractor for soffit anymore & was upset the work that was done. At this time he offered me a partial refund that was to be determined re: the soffit & fascia as I only requested the section that was damaged to be replaced not the whole garage. He did request I wait a few weeks and contact him as it was spring and he wanted to be able to build a surplus to issue my partial refund, which I agreed to.

After our meeting he expressed his desire to address the issues & get everything fixed & in return he asked me to remove my negative review. Strategic roofing sent over a crew to fix the fascia and drip edge & they then had to redo everything over.

Then came our text conversation in which more and more time elapsed between replies. He then requested to work out a credit instead of the partial refund he originally suggested. See pictures of work done & text message attached.

I do not recommend this company at all to anyone.

Disclaimer: I did NOT get any work done by Stragic Roofing.

I contacted Strategic Roofing right as winter was ending and spring was starting. They were very prompt and said they would come the next day to provide a quote.

No one showed up. I waited a few extra days, never head anything back. So, I emailed the company. The day after I emailed they said they had 'truck' problems and could not come till the next day. Three days later they finally came. Best part was that I asked the company to let me know when they would be accessing my property (and I specifically asked to be texted OR called) - no call or text.

If a company cant be bothered to provide a quote and is constantly late AND comes on your private property without letting the owner know - thats a company that I would surely avoid.

Arynn Sprague on Strategic Roofing

I had a last-minute repair required on my roof because some of my shingle-roll came off in a windstorm and also I had a leak. They checked my whole roof and let me know what repairs they could do the same day they came out, and also let me know what would need doing in the future (I kind of already knew but it was good to get professional feedback!). They were very helpful and their office staff are friendly and nice and patient with lots of questions. I can't say enough good things about Strategic Roofing, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone else who needed roofing work done.
