The Stonewater team was 5 star from sales team to installers. Working with me through every step of the process. Landon Jackson and Alex Alvis worked diligently with the insurance company and the Stonewater Team to ensure every step went smoothly. Jeffery Banks was the Project Manager that oversaw the roof installation. His crew worked seamlessly from start to finish.
I'd like to give a review specifically for Alex Alvis. He was responsive, and motivated to help with our insurance carrier to assist in getting our roof replaced. We'd had difficulty getting our insurance to cooperate but he was able to make it happen with his perseverance. We appreciate that very much! He was also good about responding to our texts about the progress of events related to our roof being replaced and subsequent follow-up to its completion.
Stonewater Roofing ReviewI will start with the positive. The roof looks great, and does not leak anywhere I know of. The actual roofing crew did an outstanding job. They drove from Tyler to Texarkana, 2 1/2 hours to do the job. And even though they worked past dark, they couldn’t finish it in one day…so they had to come back a second day and work 5-6 more hours to finish the job. Why? Because their crew wasn’t big enough to finish such a big job in one day, even as hard as they tried. They ended up working about 18 hours total. I blame Stonewater management for this issue, which is just a small part of their total ineptness. The roofing contract I signed with Stonewater started in January. We finally finished with the long drawn-out process of dealing with them in September…almost 9 months. And I realize some of the problem was with my insurance company, Farmers. But that is a whole other problem.Stonewater Roofing will tell you that you don’t have to do a thing, that they will work with your insurance on your behalf, and will accept what the insurance will pay. This is NOT the truth. This job cost me $10K out of pocket, over and above what my insurance paid. And insurance paid approx $20K. So this turned out to be a $30K roofing job. The first insurance check for $15K was paid on January 28. The actual roofing job was not done until May 8-9. Then, once the issues were fixed, the chimney cap finally replaced, a non-working, reused turbine vent replaced, and the final insurance check released, it was September. And I must add that I noticed and reported the reused turbine vent not spinning on May 25…it was finally replaced on Aug 11…6 1/2 weeks later.Another huge problem I had with Stonewater Roofing was their lack of transparency about costs. This wasn’t my first roof replacement, but I’ve never had issues like this before. Normally, you get an upfront quote from the roofing company & that’s your cost. Then it’s between you and your insurance company to decide what you pay out of pocket, if any. I never got an upfront cost from Stonewater, and if I’d have known it would have been $30K, I would’ve told them they were crazy. Also, we had a small outdoor open patio on this house. 20 years ago we had a roof installed above it, then 12 years ago we had it enclosed. I mentioned to Stonewater about the leaking and that we needed to get that fixed as well. It was never acknowledged. So I got Aguilar roofing to come out and fix this leaking enclosed patio roof, and they did a great job. Then, Stonewater says “…we could’ve done that for you.” Duh! I told my Stonewater salesman this, and I’ll say it again, “I wish I had used Aguilar Roofing for the entire job.” It would been done quickly, for an upfront cost, with total transparency, and I would imagine for much less than Stonewater Roofing. My opinion is Stonewater Roofing is too large, with too much administrative overhead, that they pass on to the consumer. I could never get a straight answer from them about anything. And I stop short about calling them liars, but sometimes not giving you the full truth is a lie in itself. I would never do business with them again, and can only hope this review saves someone else from having to deal with Stonewater Roofing. It’s not worth it, and has been nothing but a hassle for almost 9 months. Good luck, should you decide to deal with this company.
I highly recommend Stonewater Roofing to anyone who demands quality. I am restoring a 1890s Victorian in the piney woods of Texas. I value function, as well as the overall aesthetic of a house, having studied Architecture.Brennan answered all my questions and ensured I received everything I wanted. Edfrain and his crew did an excellent job of installation! I got the roof I wanted! All of the employees of Stonewater roofing are professionals.
For the beginning of our project, Ryan, our sales rep, educated us about all of the roofing material options, and made excellent suggestions about which shingles to use, and whether we could keep our existing gutters. (We did!). He is polite, professional, highly knowledgeable about Stonewater’s products and the whole process, and helped us feel confident about our roofing project. Patrick, the project manager, was punctual, cordial and professional, and kept us informed as our roofing project progressed. He was also polite, and respectful of our property, and easy to work with. The crew of roofers was amazing! They were incredibly organized, worked very efficiently, even on the hottest day of the year (so far!) and completed our roof in one day. Patrick did a great job of managing the crew, and ensured that everything was tidied once the job was completed. We love our new roof, and will recommend Stonewater roofing, especially Ryan and Patrick, to all of our friends!
