Sloan Roofing has my stamp of approval.My facia and underlayment were contaminated with dry rot and also had termite damage. Sloan Roofing came in and removed all of it. Not only did they replace the wood facia boards, they also took the composition roof back a layer to replace the plywood. Additionally, they installed a new drip cap and new roofing material. Sloan Roofing is the contract roofer for the Carefree Living Association (CLA) in Port Hueneme, Ventura County where I own my home. Mr. Alan Sloan has managed the roofs for this community for 15 years and is highly rated by the board of directors of the CLA.In December of 2023, I experienced a major leak in my sunroom which is a build-on to the main structure of my home. I used a roofer who was recommended by my insurance company. As I later learned the repair did not comply with state roofing codes.In April of 2024 with the first onset of rain, the roof leaked a second time causing damage. And for a second time I was in a situation where both the sunroom roof and interior of my home required repair.At this point I contacted Sloan Roofing and asked Mr. Sloan to inspect the roof and advise on what remedial repairs would be needed to bring the roof up to code. Mr. Sloan identified the points of failure and put together a plan to repair the roof. I could not have been more satisfied with the outcome! I now feel secure that the sunroom roof will not leak in the future.Having worked directly with Mr. Sloan, I can vouch for his professionalism, reliability, integrity and excellent work performance. Bert and his crew are a joy to employ on our jobs !They recently made short efficient clean work of replacing 5 rafter stub ends and 16 feet of roof sheeting that is exposed in the soffit of our style of roof.We had termite damage and they removed and replaced the damaged wood. They carefully removed the roof "peeled it back" by carefully pulling the nails in the shingles in the required areas.They were meticulous about this and were able to reuse 100% of the shingles!The 3 or 4 guys were all skilled and happy. Happy - like people are when they are allowed to do good work and are appreciated for it !!!I'm NOT easy to please when people are working on things for me. I truly dislike dealing with unskilled people. I really loathe bad bosses that put people who can't speak any English in situations where they will need to speak English! Bosses that just expect me to give up and just let the unskilled worker screw things up or do poor or unsafe work.That is why both my awesome wife and I absolutely LOVE SLOAN ROOFING!!!Smart people and an excellent work culture of do it right, use the right materials and fasteners, clean up overnight and secure everything nicely, and speak to each other as calm intelligent people! Note that not all of them speak English well. But they can all THINK VERY WELL.There is always someone on any team that speaks English and has great communication skills and critical thinking skills too !FAST PROFESSIONALS !NICE GUYS !HIGH QUALITY PROFESSIONALS!REASONABLE PRICES - especially considering the cardiovascular risk reduction by using them !
