Our home was in the narrow path of one of the recent hail storms. After the neighbours started making claims, I contacted our insurance provider. Their agent arrived, stated that we needed the shingles and eaves trough replaced and then emailed me a quote. I emailed them back, thanked them for their quote and asked a couple of questions. No reply, I emailed again, no reply. I called them and left a voice mail, no reply.

I then called the company (name I recognized) that was doing the roof across the street. They arrived, did a quick inspection and asked for a copy of the first quote. They matched the price with no details, just a terse mention of shingle installation, gutter installation and price. I emailed them asked the same questions and again there was no reply.

My brother in law had excellent results with Charleswood Roofing, so I called them. Andrew came out to do the quote. He did the inspection and then came into the house to discuss the details. One of the first things he asked was what colour and style of shingles would we like? He then went out to his truck and actually pulled out three samples of different colours and his ladder. He climbed up to our roof, lay the three samples out side by side and asked us what we thought. This was done quickly and without prompting. I asked the same question of the other two companies and got crickets. Then we discussed the merits of Class III vs Class IV as well as the cost difference. Another question I had asked the other companies.

There were other details to be worked out, but suffice it to say that Charleswood Roofing got the job. The shingles are a much better colour, the class IV upgraded should be more hail resistant, the eavestrough colour matches the wood trim on our windows, the downspouts are pointed in the correct directions, etc. The two crews (shingles and gutters) were quick and professional in all aspects including clean up. They fulfilled the requirements of the insurance claim and improved the quality of our roof and eaves troughs .

All in all, I can not think of any aspect that they could have gone better and I recommend them without hesitation.

Aaron showed up to install the new shingles, which had already been delivered onto the roof earlier. I am truly impressed with the careful attention to detail, efficiency and organization that the installer employed.

The finished job looks amazing. You couldn't tell anyone was ever up there, as demonstrated by such a thorough cleanup. This project was done with surgical precision - you can tell the installer has tons of experience and knowledge.

You can tell, this is a family owned company that values every project as the most important one at the time. I am so pleased that I chose them.
