Recent reviews frequently mention clear, detailed estimates and helpful guidance through options. Many note punctuality, polite crews, and thorough cleanup after installation. Pricing is often described as competitive, with some customers saying it was the best quote they received. A small number of reviews raise concerns about estimate structure, but most feedback reflects strong communication and workmanship.
I spoke with April and she sent Ronnie out to do an estimate, which took him about an hour or more on our roof and in his truck, then about another hour or more to go over the 20-page quote with me. The quote contained what I called an OPTIONAL $220 upcharge that I call "protection money" to protect me from things that no ethical business would ever do, including stolen deposits, abandoning the project, city building code violations, & improper installation. Similar to paying the mafia protection money so that they themselves don't hurt you. I had previously spoken with the owner, Richard, also on my first call the day I scheduled the estimate. He said that one thing that makes their prices a bit higher is that they belong to certain clubs; so when asked to give me an example, he said he belongs to a club of some kind that has regular meetings at which they "help each other to be better people", which I thought was weird. After getting Ronnie's quote, I exchanged some emails with him and at one point asked for a couple references, which he refused to give, which I thought was weird. So I called April at the home office, whom I'd spoken to before & asked about this. I could tell by the way she hung up the phone that this was not going to end well. Next thing I know Ronnie emails me to say they decided not to do business with me. Just like that. I was a complete gentleman with Ronnie, April, and Richard, was courteous & reasonable with them, never uttering a cross word, & they dropped me because I wanted to call a couple references. That was the straw that broke the Camel's back I guess. So I would warn prospective customers, BEWARE of this roofer!!!! As long as you don't ask too many questions or ask for references to call, and as long as nothing goes wrong with your project, maybe you will only see their "nice" side. But if you ask one too many questions or if anything goes wrong, these people could turn on you like they did to me.In Richard the owner's reply to this review, he incorrectly states: "We did not share any confidential details about this individual with other contractors. A separate, unrelated conversation occurred with another roofer prior to our decision and involved Certainteed manufacturer warranty program changes only." Actually he had that conversation about manuf warranty PRIOR to dropping me, but I have written & verbal confirmation that Richard at Camel did in fact discuss w/an employee of Tip Top AFTERWARD that he dropped me after I asked for references.Richard also falsely stated that they do provide references, however, after I asked Ronnie for references on Jan 12th he replied: "I saw the request, and after careful consideration, I'm not comfortable sharing any personal information of my prior clients. We have lots of google reviews you can check out if you want to." Then I called & spoke to April about that, to see if that was their policy or just Ronnie's decision. She said she would look into it & get back to me, but then Ronnie contacted me to say they dropped me. There are NO factual errors in this review. Richard is doing damage control. April told me after I posted this review that they only give references in writing, after the customer is sure they are going to sign contract, but don't give client phone numbers. That's not what she previously said. And I wouldn't need references if I was already sure.
Prior to selecting a company I did my due diligence in what to look for. This included Consumer reports advice as to what to beware of. When I selected Camel City and looked more closely, what they led with was all of the warnings of what not to fall victim to. Not in their best interest but, in mine. Their company lives by a professional credo that is supported by the first call, text and in person meeting. It is reinforced by the stellar work both before, during and after. Ironically I had these guys out to assess some needed replacement/repair prior to the ice and snow. Unfortunately, that morphed into a thing. Not with them, just nature. These guys went above and beyond any expectations I have of today’s world. They solidified the belief in the way I was raised. Your word is your bond and you earn a days pay for a job well done. Well done Camel City. Thanks.
We priced at least 7 roofers before Camel City Roofing and it's true we saved the best for last! Not only did Camel City install everything we wanted, they quoted us the lowest price! Ronnie was great from start to finish, he made everything easy with absolutely no pressure! The roofers worked very hard, very fast and did an amazing job on the roof and with clean up too! We highly recommend them, no need to get quotes from anyone else!
Richard was such a pleasure to work with! He worked with us to get the best price for what we wanted. He showed up on time and would call us if he was running a few minutes late. He was very professional and did an excellent job. I would highly recommend him for your roofing needs!
We originally needed roofing services during the purchasing process of our new home. Camel City Roofing came out to inspect the roof and found it in horrible condition. We were provided a very thorough roofing estimate with photos of the damage and information about why things needed to be addressed. Richard helped us understand what the best option for us might be based on how long we want to stay in the house so we could be confident in the quality and not worry about over-paying. We opted for the full roof replacement services and got on his calendar right away. The team arrived early, got right to work, and now the roof looks great. Richard sent over photos when it was done!If you’re looking for a local roof contractor, we highly recommend Camel City Roofing. It was a streamlined, easy process with a result we are more than happy with!
