I am a new customer to Route 66 Solar and so far I could not be more disappointed. I used these google reviews to partially inform my decision to go with them over other options, so I feel obliged to share my experiences with them so that others don’t make the same mistake.

I initially spoke with Scott, the owner, who was kind and informative. After agreeing to terms, Scott gave me a timeframe within which the install should occur. After that he allowed me to message him with a few questions, which I appreciated. The next I heard from anyone at their business was on 10/15 when someone called stating that they were scheduled to drop off equipment on 10/17 and install on 10/20. They requested that I be present for the install should there be any questions or approval needed for anything. That’s short notice, but I was able to adjust my schedule. Ask any of my friends or family members and they will tell you that I am notoriously forgetful, especially about dates. I am well aware of this fault, so before the call even ended, I put the time and date into my calendar and confirmed it with them. Everything was dropped off on that Friday as scheduled, but Monday comes around and nobody shows up. I message Scott after a couple hours of waiting and he said the crew got behind the previous week and failed to inform me that they would be delayed. Another person with the business called me shortly after that to apologize, but then stated that they were always scheduled for Tuesday the 21st, not Monday. I informed them that I could not take off another day of work and they would have to proceed without me being present. They showed up the next day and began. They left a lot of trash and hardware in my yard, which I picked up. They didn’t finish that day, but didn’t inform me when they would be coming back. I messaged Scott the following day to learn that they had to wait to meet with ameren to have the power shut off to allow them to finish. They came back 10/24 to finish. Once they were done, I asked them to show me what I needed to know, gave them final payment and they left. This time they left a smaller mess for me to pick up and I eventually noticed some parts were left on the roof. I messaged Scott asking if someone was going to come out to go through everything more comprehensively, but never heard back from him. I thought that was the end of it, but I got another message on 10/28 stating that there was a final inspection scheduled for 11/5 that they wanted me to be present for. 10am came around and the city inspectors showed up, but not Route 66. I didn’t realize my power was shut off until I went back into my house and the inspectors were already gone. I called the city and they said it wasn’t their responsibility and I had to contact the installer. I called Route 66 and a receptionist answered that was unable to transfer me to someone helpful. I then called one of the other numbers that messaged me from their business and they arranged to send someone out to get my power back on 45 minutes later. Another person named Andy called to ask what was going on, but attempted to blame the city inspectors, make excuses about business volume and question my explanation of the events. I can only assume this was the same person that previously tried to lie about the miscommunication regarding the install date.

As of now, I have left a message for, but have yet to speak with Scott the owner about any of this. I do not feel assured about investing so much into something with such an unreliable business. At this rate, I can only assume they will ignore me. My hope in detailing my experience is to show that this business cannot be trusted.
