I just had my installation with Boston Solar- it went perfectly. Chris and his team were communicative, neat and extremely polite. My whole experience thus far has been very positive. Dillon the first person I spoke with was very knowledgeable, and I felt like he was providing information rather than selling me a system. I will wait now for the city inspection but I will be live with solar in no time. So glad I went with Boston Solar.

The panels were enabled one day after the final inspection, and they are all running amazingly so far.

Updates:
Boston Solar just came and installed the panel today, and their installation team seemed really professional and did a really good job installing the panel. We are still waiting for the final inspection for the official PTO, and see how the panels will actually perform. Will update the review to 5 stars later on if they perform well.

This company doesn't seem to care at all about the customers. Due to their delayed processing, we could potentially lose over $10000 tax credit. They originally promised us that they would get everything done within 4 months when we first paid the $10000 deposit and signed the contract with them. 6 months later, we still don't see the panel on the roof, and we are not sure if they can still get it done by the end of the year, because of the holiday season and uncertain weather. At this moment, they are still not able to confirm with us whether they are able to get it done on time, and avoid giving us any solutions to reimburse our loss of $10000 if they miss the deadline. All their email responses have been lackluster to us, and they deliberately avoid picking up our phone/calling us back during the past few days. This is not the right way to treat your customers, and at this moment, we just feel deeply disappointed and regret choosing Boston Solar over the other providers.

Stay away.

What sold me on Boston Solar was their focus on customer service but unfortunately what I experienced was contra to that promise.

1. Boston Solar stated that they did all the work in house, including installation. This was not true as it was subcontracted out. Installers damaged and tossed away the exterior outlet cover (which is required by code) when the exterior junction box was installed too close to the preexisting exterior outlet. It took a follow up visit to rectify this after I discovered it myself.
2. Constant reactive communication. Supplies were supposed to be dropped off day before, they were not. Install was supposed to be 1 day, but it was not as the snow guards were not delivered. Both of these times I had to call Boston Solar, they did not reach out to me.
3. During the process, they went through 3 solar panel options as the 1st and 2nd had damage and supply chain issues. I understand that this is a crunch year, but Boston Solar should have planned accordingly as this did not inspire confidence.
4. After 1-3, I was shocked that for 2 weeks after the final electrical inspection, Boston Solar did absolutely NOTHING. They were supposed to have submitted my project to the utility for final approval but did not. They only did AFTER I asked for an update.

While Boston Solar did provide nominal billing credits for the aforementioned headaches, they were dismal in project management and customer service.

The team was very professional, knowledgeable, attentive and responsive. The panels look great and the installation was quick and easy.
