Smaran and Mystic/Shoreline solar installed our system December 2025. We had debated solar for a long time. Like many, we decided to go with solar before the elimination of the tax credit, which was substantial, on 12/31/2025. Even then, we waited until Fall to finalize our decision. We solicited offers from several providers. A friend who recently designed his own solar helped us. We had a bad experience with one of the national solar companies; shady practices and sub-par equipment. A well respected and regarded CT company was great to work with but was expensive. Further, they told us there was no way to get the installation completed by the expiration. Specifically saying, “Don’t believe any company that says they can.”

Smaran said it would be close but thought his company could complete the job by the end of the year. He also offered better equipment at a lower cost. I was skeptical at first. I was susceptible to influence from the other companies saying I would miss the credit deadline. In short, Smaran and his team finished our project before the new year and it was a joy to work with them.

From the start Smaran was very patient. I was constantly texting and e-mailing him, worried about deadlines. Admittedly, I was annoying. Smaran never made me feel uncomfortable, explained each step, and checked in on me on more than one occasion. If he saw me outside as he drove by, he would pull in to say hi and chat. His team handled the entire process, permitting, appointments, forms, etc. It was almost embarrassing how little I had to do.

Mid-way through the process I panicked and second guessed my entire design, even after the engineering plans were submitted. Smaran, again, calmly came up with the alternate design I requested and let me decide which I wanted. I distinctly remember him not being annoyed and simply letting me be, saying we would do whatever I chose (we stuck with his original plan). During installation day there was a windstorm. Smaran and I texted a few times, he reorganized the schedule for his teams and was able to get me in the following day. I know this was a logistical headache as his company was doing many installs simultaneously to mine.

While larger companies may have fancy advertising and the façade of ample resources, you are often left wondering who to call for different aspects. Bounced around from one office to the next. I have friends who have been stuck in solar limbo because a national provider kept giving them a new number to call.

Working with Smaran directly was a breeze. If I had a question or concern, I would just contact him. I always knew he was there to support me and never had to worry about getting the run around. Smaran stood by his company. I stand by my own experience with Smaran and easily recommend him to anyone considering solar.

I purposely waited until our system was fully up and running to leave this review; however, I will honestly say that my confidence and trust in Omar and his team at Shoreline Solar never diminished. Starting with the first consultation call with him, to now.

A few months ago, we decided we wanted to make the investment into buying solar. We always used to fear the idea of having something on our roof - something that would require drilling holes, and possibly doing irreparable damage. Our fears were quickly comforted with our first call to Omar.

He thoroughly explain how much solar panels, and their mounting methods have evolved. With new age brackets that create water tight seals, and with minimally invasive, crack/water tight electrical entry points, we felt so much more confident in proceeding.

Omar worked with us with great care and patience, explaining how we could maximize roof space and panel space. He was able to ensure us that we would be getting the best sun exposure, and the best possible energy absorption for the panels.

When installation day came, I was floored in the best way possible. The crew at Shoreline had as much OCD as I do. Their attention to detail was absolutely impeccable! Their abilities and efforts to hide the little bit of conduit that was visible was top notch. That, paired with the time-consuming effort they made of carefully running the bridge from one area to another in the attic was greatly appreciated. Carlos was very thorough (to say the least), and explained all of the work he was completing beforehand to ensure we were satisfied.

Lorena at Shoreline kept us in the know with repeated updates, and stayed on top of Eversource with getting all action needed from them.

Greg arrived withing a few days, setting up the Envoy, and showing us how to monitor the microinverters / panels. He was also extremely thorough, and very knowledgeable.

We started this process in early August, shopping around different companies, and ultimately deciding on Shoreline by late August. Permission to operate (full completion) was granted in early December.

Shoreline's timeline and ability to keep things moving (especially when the tax credit was on the line) was truly amazing.

I could not be more pleased!

If you're currently shopping around companies, have questions or qualms about going solar, or want to ensure that your home is not going to be one of "those" ugly ones with conduit pipes showing and running everywhere you look, RUN to Shoreline Solar!

On a final note, we had a minor issue with one of the wires that caused a section to shut down. I can also attest to Shoreline's repair support and assistance (post-install). Shoreline had multiple crew members out within a couple of days to address, and resolve the issue.

I was fortunate to have been referred to Shoreline Solar out of Hamden, CT to install my solar. The entire team was very easy to deal with and communicating with them was very easy. They were extremely knowledgeable, professional, and true to their word. Omar and his team showed up on time and did a great job. They were very clean.
