Adina Betancourt on Detach Reset Solar

This company was subcontracted to remove and reinstall my solar panels in February 2025 during a roof replacement.

Within a month of reinstallation, my electric bill increased significantly. I contacted the company and experienced repeated scheduling delays before a technician was sent.

I was informed that one of the panels was “broken.” The roofer was charged approximately $1,500 for a replacement panel. They did not verified warranty and, I was offered a used panel as a replacement option. Since the charge was billed through the roofer, I was not provided documentation confirming whether the installed panel was new or used.

After waiting several additional months for the replacement panel to arrive and be installed, the system still was not producing properly.

Monitoring through the SolarEdge app was not connected, and no post-reinstallation production verification was performed. I personally contacted FPL, who confirmed they could not verify production.

I was then told the issue was likely the connection box and was quoted $900 because I was informed it was not under warranty. I requested an invoice but never received one.

After nearly nine months of unresolved issues throughout 2025, I hired another licensed solar company for a second opinion. They confirmed the component in question was still under manufacturer warranty, ordered the part under warranty, restored monitoring access, verified communication remotely, and brought the system back online properly.

The system was not functioning correctly for most of 2025 following the February roof replacement.

I recommend homeowners independently verify warranty status, confirm monitoring access, and ensure production is validated after any panel removal and reinstallation.

Detach Reset Solar was subcontracted by our roofer to remove our panels in late October for a roofing job that was completed the following week. They broke one of the panels during the removal, and attempted to replace it with a used panel after telling me they'd be replacing it with a new one. It is now February, and half of the panels are still sitting on the ground. Detach Reset has generally failed to show up when they said they would, communicated only minimally about everything, and when they do show up they tend to work for a few hours and then claim they're missing parts and we'll need to wait another week or so before they return. They've left my lawn a mess the whole time, with brackets and other parts just scattered all over the place. The whole process has been incredibly unpleasant and highly unprofessional.

Used Detatchresetsolar upon recommendation of roofing company. 8/31 roofers started on roof and had to wait on detatch crew to arrive to remove panel.Detatch crew also used 2 roofers to help them get the panel off the roof. 8/21 reset crew scheduled to arrive. Never showed up. I was never informed. Later informed parts for reset would not be at Home Depot until Monday. Monday wzs another no show and no phone call. Got an email parts fro. Home Depot would be delivered to my home. 8/26 Parts delivered from AMAZON. 8/27 Panel finally reset and leak appeared at the bottom of a header. Crew left. 9/3Crew returned and tried to solder the leak. ... failed and left. 9/5 Recieved email saying the leak was not repairable along with a contract for $4650 for installation of a new panel.( despite language of para. 1F of their contract.) My panel worked fine before they worked on it.
No one at Detatchreset has ever reached out to discuss the matter despite my texts and emails. The respinse has been "someone from management will contact you" which has never happened. 9/16 Contacted a local solar company and texted them a picture of the leak. They said it was an easey fix and should have been braised not soldered . They also said using a "shark bite" to connect the pipes is not recommended as the pladtic could melt and cause a leak. They gave me a price to fix the leak and also a price for a new panel. I opted for the new panel which included new valves for $1400 less than what Detatchreset wanted.
Recieved other text today saying someone from management would contact me Monday.... we'll see....

Hi, my name is Walter Brooks. I’ve had business with detach and reset Solor. I had small little issue. I called customer service. They were great. They came back and addressed the manner very quickly. I really appreciate their work ethics and customer service like I said was great. The workers that came to my house also very nice and polite when I took care of the issue that I had I would highly recommend them to anyone.

The only thing I didn’t like was the lack of communication. For example the replacement was delayed and no one let me know. This was especially frustrating because I was scheduled to be away from home. However, they did a good job and I’m happy that it’s over.

Frequently Asked Questions

Detach and reset is the temporary removal of your solar panels and related hardware so roofing work can be completed. After the roof is finished, the system is reinstalled, wiring is reconnected, and the system is tested for proper operation.

Removal is often completed in a day for average homes, but timelines depend on array size, roof access, and weather. Reinstallation is scheduled after the roofer completes work and materials are ready, which may require separate visits.
