Purchased these panels 3 years ago with the expectation it would save me money on electricity. Since having them I have consistently had an electric bill on top of the solar panels. Come to find out recently something seems to be off with the panels and I get an email. Okay, the email suggest that I go out and troubleshoot the system myself. Fine, I go through the instructions and do what I was told and reach back out. Told the system is still not online. At this point I am wondering how long it has been offline for. So I ask if someone is going to take a look at this and I am met with "To send out a technician it is a minimum $500 charge" and that it "depends on the location". Wonderful so something I am paying on is not working by no fault of my own and to just have someone come look at it will cost me a minimum $500. I reached out to their "customer service team" and have gotten 0 answers as to why this is the case and exactly what is wrong with their product. Needless to say please do research before you work with a company like this there are plenty of companies out there that offer much better service and will not lie through their teeth about results to you.
Working with Palmetto and the solar company was very easy. The rep we worked with communicated with us very well and was always responsive to questions. The set up, install were easy and the panels have worked great. The app makes it easy to see how your energy is being used and how much you are generating and saving. It has been 4 months and a great experience.
Palmetto, along with ESP, has been the worst solar service experience my family could have chosen. My parents and I regret going with this company every day. We have had continuous issues from one problem to another, and this has affected both of our homes. Even when one issue finally gets resolved, another one comes up shortly after. The lack of reliability, ongoing problems, and overall service experience have been extremely frustrating. I would not recommend this company to anyone considering solar.I have been dealing with ongoing power outages for over two and a half months. Some days we are without power for up to 8 hours, and at times it happens multiple times within a single hour. I have a Tesla backup battery, yet when these outages occur, it provides no power at all. This is not an Edison issue—all surrounding neighbors have power when my home goes completely dark. The problem appears to be with the system itself. For some reason, the gateway does not allow power from either the grid or the backup battery into my home, causing a total loss of power. This has become a major issue because I work from home and rely on stable electricity and WiFi. After a month and a half, Palmetto finally sent a third-party technician to inspect the system. I was told the battery was not functioning correctly and that I would receive a call later that day explaining the issue. No one ever called.Days later, after I reached out myself, I was then told the issue was actually the gateway, not the battery—despite no one returning to inspect it. Now I am waiting indefinitely for a third party to come back out and replace the gateway.Overall, the lack of communication, inconsistent information, and extremely slow response time have made this a terrible experience. It feels like they are overwhelmed with issues and unable to properly support their customers. I would not recommend Palmetto or ESP.
Solar panels were installed on my home in April 2025. In September 2025, my roof began leaking—an issue that did not exist prior to the solar installation. Since then, I have been stuck in a prolonged and frustrating warranty process involving Palmetto and Omnidian. My Omnidian warranty case (WO-00290311) has been ongoing for months with no resolution. Below is a summary of the communication timeline to demonstrate the lack of urgency and accountability:• September 30, 2025 – Initial email sent to Omnidian reporting the roof leak• November 7, 2025 – Email communications with Palmetto• November 10, 12, and 14, 2025 – Follow-up emails with Omnidian• November 30, 2025 – Additional follow-up with no meaningful progress• December 10, 2025 – Escalation email sent expressing concerns about unacceptable service, incomplete inspection, and missing reports; Palmetto project manager CC’d• December 30, 2025 – Yet another follow-up as the issue remains unresolvedDespite multiple inspections, the service has been unacceptable. Inspections were incomplete, reports were not provided, and I was told a return visit was required—causing further delays while my home continues to experience water intrusion. We are now heading into 2026, and this situation has gone on far too long. I have formally requested that the solar panels be completely uninstalled at no charge so that I can move forward with installing a new roof. I have also stated that I am discontinuing my service with Palmetto and will not use or recommend this solar company in the future.I have requested that this matter be escalated to senior management to review the case in its entirety, including all communications, and to contact me directly. To date, the lack of urgency, transparency, and accountability has been extremely disappointing.Solar is a major investment. Homeowners should not be left dealing with months of delays, repeated follow-ups, and unresolved roof damage. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company or its warranty partner.
I paid half of the funds ($29,000) as requested in August and am still waiting for an installation date. I get prevarication from Palmetto and GOOD pwr. they say they are waiting for approval from APG&E but APG&E says they have nothing from GOODpwr nor Palmetto. So I am beginning to think that I am being scammed. As we all know if the installation and final approval is not done before December 31 then I will not receive a tax rebate. so am I being scammed? An update on my previous review. Finally my panels and batteries were installed in late November. The sub contracted crew were quite efficient and installed in about 1.5 days. the panels are working extremely well generating as many as 50-60 KW of energy depending on the weather. The only caveat now is that the installation failed local inspection and the team has to return to address the issues. They are to return finally on Dec 22 with another inspection to follow. So finally I have what I paid for (I paid the other half) and am looking forward to a greatly reduced electricity bill.
