This company is professional and our experience working with them was nothing but pleasant from the office to the field. They worked with not against nor independent. They listened and incorporated our ideas into the plan so that our finished product turned out exactly as desired.
We first contacted NextEnergy to install solar on our home in 2022. The crew that did the install were exceptionally professional and considerate of our property. We got hit with a hail storm a couple of weeks later and had roof damage that required us to have our roof replaced. Called them up and let them know when the roofing contractor wanted to start, they came the day before and pulled the panels back down, then when the roof was done I called and they were there the next day to put them back on. Made a second call in 2023 to ask about Critter Guard to keep the pigeons and doves from nesting under the panels, the next day the techs showed up and not only installed the guard, but removed all of the nests from the roof and disposed of them. We've used them for electrical work on our house as well. Everything from smoke detector replacement to swapping out a range outlet. The electricians show up, complete the work quickly, and always leave the area better than when they started. When we had the first of the Xcel power outages in December 2025 we decided we wanted to do a battery backup for our house. It was installed just in time. At 11:45AM on 1/16/26 we lost grid power, our battery took over with only a couple second "blip". Our fridge, freezers, furnace, lights, and TV all happily ran for 10 hours until the grid was restored. We watched the battery discharge to 90% then start to charge and run the house from our solar panels. The team at NextEnergy monitored our system throughout the day to make sure it was functioning well, and kept in contact with us to make sure we felt secure and confident we were protected. We now feel confident we can make it through anything Xcel throws at us with very minimal impact.I 100% recommend calling NextEnergy for any of your electrical needs. The staff is friendly and responsive, prices are fair, and work is done well.
The guys do really clean work! I have seen a lot of hack jobs by other fly by night companies, finding out these guys were local (rare for Solar) and had their own installation crews on staff made me feel a lot better. I was concerned that there would be a big mess on the exterior of my home but they were able to conceal 90% of the wiring!
I started the process to install a backup battery system with this company and signed all the necessary paperwork. They ran a credit check, which resulted in a hard inquiry on my report. However, I never received any follow-up communication — no welcome email, no installation details, nothing.Despite multiple calls and emails, I couldn’t get a clear update. After nearly three months of waiting, I finally managed to reach someone, only to find out that they had cancelled my project without notifying me. This company completely wasted three months of my time.I also requested removal of the hard inquiry a week ago and have yet to receive any response or update. Very poor communication, lack of professionalism, and zero accountability. I would not recommend this company to anyone expecting reliability or transparency.
Worked with Ben Hurd on our solar installation. Everything went smoothly and the process was seamless from quote to install. As an engineer who has done commercial solar in my past, I ran all my own numbers to confirm what I was being sold was accurate. Highly recommend these guys if you’re looking into solar in Northern Colorado!
