Several customers mention fair or competitive pricing and smooth scheduling. Overall sentiment trends positive but with variability tied to post-install support experiences.
We had to replace our 30+ year old roof. We have solar panels. Chris, Kathleen, and everyone at Citadel, made this process as seamless as possible. Re-roofing is expensive, but Citadel offered a price that was competitive and fair. We used Citadel in the past for our battery back up. We are having Citadel install out 220 outlet for our EV car. Thank you everyone at Citadel!
Poor service and work quality.I purchased a new home with Lennar in Irvine, who used Citadel as the solar installer. The home was purchased 4/2025. The new solar system has been malfunctioning since then with only about 10% output (0.2kw as opposed to maximum of 2.24 kW as designed), and now it is reaching the 10 month mark yet it’s still not working.Citadel made multiple visits over the few months, and none of the visits were able to fix it. At the end, they suspected that a filter needs to be installed? Senior manager communicated with us end of 12/2025 that they would continue to investigate.Eventually, they said the filter has been ordered, and I will need wait for up to 12 business days to receive it. 4 Weeks have passed, and I had to proactively ask for the progress, just to found out from the order ID that the part was never shipped. The manager again promised that he would investigate, and of course, I didn’t hear back anymore.I am left with a malfunctioning system after paying $25000+ plus tax. We are left with the only option involving a litigation with a consumer protection attorney in order to recover all financial losses. My advice is to pay attention to Lennar new home builder in Great Park, Irvine, who uses citadel for solar installation, if you do not want to go through all these pain.I will update this review for the final outcome of this case.
The entire experience with Citadel was great! From beginning to end it was very positive. Our Sales representative, Chris Blank, was constantly in touch with us and followed up on everything that came up during the project.Every person who worked on the project was very professional and made you feel confident in the company. We really cannot say enough about how well Citadel performed.
I am completely satisfied with Citadel Roofing and Solar. I contacted them in December 2022. They gave me roof and solar cost estimates that were a little higher than some of the other contractors. I was impressed with their planning and professional expertise. They gave me a good discount for two extra solar panels that I ask to be added into the project. They met their planned February 2023 schedule by doubling the roofing and solar crew sizes to avoid pending rain showers. The system comes with a WiFi link that allows me to occasionally check on the panel and system performance. Today, 25 months since installation it shows that it has produced a total of 34.6 MWh. This is approximately $14,000 or an average of $560 per month. At this rate the installed solar cost of $29,680 will be zeroed out with a total run time of 53 months or 4.4 years.
Great price on my solar, great product, great job on installation. Couldn't be happier. Evan Bateman worked with me though the entire project. Highly recommend Citadel.
