When I wanted to get a solar system at my place, I researched a lot of companies and ended up choosing CB Solar, and I was happy with their service. Having an old farmstead, I had a lot of options on where I could install the panels, and they worked with me to understand the pros and cons of each. I worked with Cory from their sales group and he was very good, not pressuring but just helping explain the alternatives. At one point during the design, they caught a mistake they had made in calculations that would have put undue stress on the inverters, and they upsized the system to correct this without any price increase. I would rather that mistakes not be made, but I understand that they happen. What I really appreciated was that they admitted and took responsibility for the mistake (they could have just installed the system as designed and I would never have known until it failed early) and they fixed it without trying to charge me more. That kind of honesty and integrity is worth a lot to me and that's why this is a 5-star review and not a 4 star.In the end, I choose a ground-mount system that was further from the road and required a lot of trenching. I liked that they handled all the work with the sub-contractors and I didn't have to worry about anything. The electrical subcontractor was very flexible to work in some trenching changes that I requested.Since installation, the system has performed as expected with no issues and I usually forget it's there, which is the highest praise for a solar system. I'm coming up on 1 year now, and I think it will have fully offset my electric bill for the whole year, which was the target.The only other issue was that one of the legs of the 240VAC wasn't wired in the breaker panel for one of the strings of inverters. I don't know if this was a mistake by CB or by the electrical sub, but it was fixed without much problem.Overall, I am very happy with the work done. There are some shady solar companies out there, but CB isn't one of them. I was talking with the electrical sub, and he said that CB was one of only two companies that he'll work with in the Des Moines area. That matches my experience.
We purchased solar panels with CB Solar in 2024. I am very pleased with the product and the customer service we have received for all the questions we have had. CB Solar provided help with spreadsheets and with our local electric service when needed. I have and will continue to refer people to CB Solar. They are easy to work with and very knowledgeable.
After a great deal of research & proposals from other companies, we selected CB Solar. We're extremely pleased with our choice. They walked alongside us through the entire process. Our system has been up & running for over a year & we're so happy with the energy created & the utility savings are phenomenal. One reviewer talks about net metering where a utility company could pay you for any excess energy your solar system creates beyond what you use. Unfortunately, that's a business decision being made by the utility company and their policies change. The same is true for tax rebates and incentives. Personally, our solar system has done everything we expected and more. As a solar system provider, CB Solar has been a wonderful partner guiding us through the utility company approval, electrical system updates, county permit process, solar panel installation, etc. They've answered every question we've had and are up-to-date on continued emerging technology. We VERY HIGHLY recommend CB Solar!!

We worked with CB Solar on installing a solar array on our new construction house and the whole process was great: they worked with the builder and were able to seamlessly integrate everything while the house was going up with no visible conduit or wiring. It's been almost 3 years since then and the panels still cranking out more electricity than we use.
