Customer feedback is mixed. Positive notes mention helpful proposal walkthroughs and smooth installation experiences when permitting and interconnection proceed as expected. Critical reviews report delays around permitting, communication gaps between departments, and slow follow-up on inspection or activation issues. Responsiveness and coordination during the approval phase appear to be common pain points for some reviewers.

Everyone at Blue Raven is informative, knowledgeable, professional, and friendly but the company(now SunPower) is excessively overstaffed resulting in a pedestrian organizational pace as responsibilities shift from one department to the next. The only time the staff moved quickly was to secure my deposit. They also dropped the ball when approval for the project was delay. (I contacted the city and discovered that a permit had not been submitted) We signed the contract the first week of Sept but it is now two weeks before Christmas and the system is still not turn on. The electric company completes the last step and turns the system on.
I recognize that the project involves many steps-design of the system, city inspectors approving the design, HOA approval, installation, inspection of installed system by the city, and finally by the electric company but the lines of communication never outpaced my expectation and only a few people took responsibility for moving the paperwork along. In contrast I contacted a local company to install a new roof and they completed it within three weeks.
Would I recommend them, yes with the reservations previously noted. The specs on the panel and the costs competitive so the should be included for consideration, especially since I do not have any other company to whom I can compare. Since it is a process that involves many steps, it just may require more time than I realized. I still think it should have moved faster esp on obtaining the approval by the city. Someone definitely dropped the ball.

ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE: FRAUDULENT COMPENSATION, GROSS NEGLIGENCE, AND EXTREME HEAT DAMAGE! DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY—YOU WILL REGRET IT! ??
I wish I could give zero stars. From the beginning, this company has been a disaster, and now they have actively damaged my home and finances.

1. The Initial Lie and Unprofessionalism
Everything went "smoothly" until the day of the scheduled installation. I took the entire day off work, and 30 MINUTES before the agreed-upon time, they called to cancel. The lack of respect is ASTOUNDINGLY unprofessional. For my trouble, they promised a $50 compensation payment. Guess what? FOUR MONTHS AND OVER 20 PHONE CALLS LATER, I HAVE RECEIVED NOTHING. This company lies and steals small amounts of money.

2. NEGLIGENCE THAT CAUSED MAJOR DAMAGE
On the day of the rescheduled installation, their team accessed my attic. Since that day, my home has developed SEVERE AND ABNORMAL TEMPERATURE ISSUES. This is directly causing my gas bills to skyrocket! They were negligent in the attic, and they caused permanent damage to my insulation.

3. THREE MONTHS OF INSULTING INDIFFERENCE
I immediately requested them to inspect and fix the damage they caused. After waiting THREE MONTHS for a resolution, I was told they would send some unqualified guy with a rake to "check the installation." Are you serious?! They flat-out refuse to call a professional insulation company to correct the mess they created. They are actively leaving my home damaged and costing me hundreds of dollars.

THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. RUN AWAY! They will cheat you, damage your property, and then insult your intelligence. Save your time and your sanity.

YOU WILL SEE ME IN COURT.

I received quotes from four PV companies. I had a great experience with Tim during the proposal. Once my system design got through engineering, permitting and the interconnect application when smoothly. My system was installed over the Thanksgiving. It took about 5 hours and the guys were great. I'm looking forward to the activation, energy savings and a tax rebate! I definitely recommend Blue Raven Solar (now SunPower).

Go with any other company. Everything was great until they installed. We’ve failed our city inspection and haven’t had them hooked up yet. They’ve been sitting on our roof for 6 weeks and our yard has been torn apart and almost completely inaccessible. It’s an hazard and our rep has no sense of urgency and I can’t get ahold of anybody for actual support. I wish I would’ve trusted my gut and gone with an actual local-owned solar company.

I met with a Blue Raven Solar sales representative on 11/20/24. I was told I would get a solar system installed that would supply enough electricity to support my household. Instead of paying 500 a month for electricity, I will pay 400 a month for the solar panels. I was told they would be installed in January 2025. I was told my loan payment would stay the same as long as I put the money I get from the solar tax credit towards my loan at the end of the year. I have recently learned that I don't actually get any money back from the tax credit to put towards the loan. I was told my system would be energized a week to a week and a half after installation. My sales representative said he would explain everything and guide me every step of the way. Now he doesn't answer or return my calls.

My system was installed 3/19/25. It is still not energized or turned on. Every time I was able to contact support in the last 5 months I was told a week to week and a half and my system will be energized. I also learned that I will be paying for my solar system AND electricity because my system will not produce enough electricity for my household. I am currently paying over $400 loan payments for the solar panels and paying $500 a month for electricity. My panels have been installed for 5 months already.

I looked up the manufacturer's installation guidelines for the solar panels and BRS did not follow the manufacturer's guidelines for installation and that voids the warranty on my solar panels. I looked at the blueprints from BRS and they are not even installed correctly according to their own blueprints. The panels are supposed to be a minimum of 10 cm from the surface of the roof, they are not. There is supposed to be a minimum of 10 mm between panels for expansion, there is no gap. Panels are not properly supported. They are supposed to be supported with a minimum of 2 mounts on each side, I have multiple panels with one support on a side. Some panels are scratched and damaged. Jagged cuts on the skirtting. Sealant spilled on panels.

On 7/30 I contacted BRS support regarding my issues with installation and they advised me to email quality control. I emailed quality control on 7/30. I called support 8/9 and they said wait the rest of the week and if I haven't heard back from quality control by the end of the week call back. On 8/14 I called support again and they contacted quality control and I was told I would have a response from quality control by the end of the day. I got an email later that day assuring me not to worry, everything is installed correctly, they will be sending a technician to add supports to the panels with 1 support on a side. I can clearly see that my solar panels are not properly installed and have voided warranties.

I hope I can prevent this from happening to someone else that is willing to believe whatever a solar company tells them.
