If I could leave no stars I would. The whole process started with a salesman at the door with the solar pitch and the benefits their product would bring and let me tell you, it was the furthest thing from the truth. The salesman told us that Shell was offering this great product that would keep us in the same sort of energy price that we were currently paying at the time, but we would also get the free nights electricity that we were currently getting and that we would get batteries to use incase of a power outage. He told us that the batteries would allow us to continue to power everything that we had in the house including the AC units for up to a couple of days with no sun. Come to find out from Solerite who actually owns the contracts, that is not the way it works. The batteries only power the "essential" items like refrigerators, lights and medical equipment. Not only did it take 7 months from the time we signed the contract to have the solar installed, the install in our garage was horrible and had our panel mismatched with the labeling. The walls in my garage still have patching on them and half of the screws on the electric panel are still missing. I would stay as far away from this company as possible.
Salesman was extremely kind and said that our system and storage could easily power our AC unit and other things. When this was put to the test during Hurricane Beryl, that proved to be dangerously false. This misunderstanding literally put me and my family in danger. We lucked out and were only without power for a little over a week but my house ended up getting up to 90F inside. This system was very expensive and it only seems to be able to run a fridge.I am now looking into what legal options I have because clearly we were mislead and Glyde refuses to accommodate anything. I called numerous times to only get an email that essentially was summed up to: you need additionally battery storage. It took 4 months to get that response.Run. Do not just walk away from these people, run.
Got my solar and battery system set up yesterday and the crew and workmanship were very professional. I would highly recommend. From the beginning working with Luke Klatke, to the end with the install crews it was a great experience.
The team from Glyde Solar was my guide to harnessing the energy of the sun, and using it to power the electricity needs of my home. Glyde Solar did an outstanding job through every stage of the planing, and approval process, and installation and completion of the system. Everything was clearly explained, all my questions were answered, and the communication was excellent every step of the way. Now, I sit back and watch as my solar energy use goes up, and my utility bill goes down!
