If I could give negative stars I would, this company has had a payment of mine since last year for more than $4,500 with the promise of services. (Panel removal)
After two months without scheduling, I did ask for a refund and it has been more than a month without scheduling no answers. I have called at least 10 times and they have said they are working on it. I called again today and no update. I asked for a manager and no one was available. I asked for a call back and still have not heard back.
They use terrible equipment, no flashing, poor brackets to top it off. Under every attachment was a leak that caused rotten decking so not only did I pay them to remove it AND THEY NEVER DID and kept my money…. I now find out after someone else takes the equipment down the work and equipment was poor at best.

This email was weeks ago and the best they could say is “accounting delays” what is that?

The experience was nice the only reason I rate it a 3 out 5 is because having third party companies is hard to get someone to come back to the site and fix what they’ve messed up. I have a hole in my guest bathroom ceiling and I'm still waiting for the roofing company to come back out to fix the issue. I have been in contact with the representative that was over the construction of my roof but getting a guaranteed appointment is difficult. Please send someone back to my home and get the issue fixed.

Unfortunately, there's nothing really good about this company. While the sales rep and installers were nice to talk to and polite. The whole process was difficult. When I spoke with the sales rep, I specifically said I wanted to offset my whole energy bill or as close to that add possible. Supposedly, the plan was that. I was stupid, and I should have read better rather than believe what I was being told and sign. Now I have panels that won't produce not even half of what I use, so I have an electric bill and a bill for the panels that's like double or more than the amount I was paying for electricity alone.
And talking about the installation? It took weeks. They kept sending the wrong parts, etc. If there was an option for negative stars, I would give them that!
No wonder they had to file for bankruptcy and got bought by another company!
I always wanted solar panels. It was a dream that turned into a nightmare, I'm so disappointed.

The sales team and the customer support team are great. The installation and service team are untrained, unprofessional, unsupervised, and not certified electricians.

The installation team came without the proper tools even though the preinstallation review took hundreds of pictures of our brick home. The team had to run to Home Depot several times and I had to lend them tools that they almost broke. They can't even install a conduit vertically. They left one of the wiring couplers loose meaning that we couldn't generate solar power for a month after clearing the inspection. The team also caused significant damage to our newly installed shingles. The guy who came to fix the power generation problem said the install team didn't run the correct number of wires and he couldn't fix it by himself. When a certified electrician finally got here, he found the loose coupler and fixed it in a few minutes. However, he also lacked basic supplies and I had to provide them.

I am unable to recommend this company until they improve their installation and field service teams

I recently experienced a concerning encounter with Blue Raven Solar representatives. Despite prominently displayed "no solicitation" signs, their sales agents not only disregarded this request but went to the extent of mocking it. In a regrettable incident, I believe I was referred to as a "punk" by one of the sales representatives which I observed over my camera.

Moreover, their misguided belief that knocking instead of ringing the doorbell would avoid detection by security cameras was proven wrong. This incident raises questions about the company's commitment to respecting homeowners' boundaries and privacy.

The use of high visibility construction vests, while potentially innocuous, is worth noting given the deceptive tactics employed by some home invaders. This practice may cause unnecessary concern among homeowners, as it did in my case.

I find it disconcerting that, once engaged, Blue Raven Solar representatives often resist accepting a polite refusal. This persistent approach creates an uncomfortable atmosphere for homeowners who have clearly communicated their lack of interest.

I urge Blue Raven Solar to reconsider its sales practices to align with ethical standards and respect for personal boundaries. Should such intrusive behavior persist, homeowners may need to explore legal avenues to protect their rights and well-being.

Frequently Asked Questions

Service is centered in Fayetteville and surrounding Cumberland County communities. Coverage can change based on installer availability and project scope. Contact the office to confirm your address. You may be asked for basic site details to verify feasibility.

A clear proposal should outline equipment, system size, expected annual production, and assumptions used. It should also define responsibilities for roofing, electrical work, permits, and inspections. Ask for a schedule with milestones and points of contact. Request warranty documentation for equipment and workmanship if applicable.

Service may involve coordination with partner installers or trades. Response times can vary, so ask for the process to log a ticket and expected follow-up intervals. Keep photos and notes to document issues. Written confirmation of appointments can help track progress.

Offset depends on your usage, roof space, orientation, shading, and utility policies. A site-specific design can estimate annual production and likely bill impact. Review assumptions carefully and compare them with your historic consumption. Consider seasonal variation and utility rate structures.

Confirm who installs the system, license coverage for electrical work, and how change orders are handled. Review payment schedules, cancellation terms, and any refund timelines. Ensure you have contact details for project and service teams. Keep copies of all documents and emails.
