Blue Raven Solar hired us for a roof repair after they installed solar panels on a customers home in July of 2024. My shingle repair bid of $550 was accepted and they had us schedule the repair. Soon after finishing and sending an invoice for payment we received bankruptcy papers for Blue Raven Solar. They did not pay for their repair and STILL owe us the money. Every time we call we either get an automated voicemail or someone transfers the call to someone else and we get put on hold.Ironically.....we got a call from them in 2025 since we were listed in their system as an approved roof repair company. THEY TRIED TO HIRE US FOR MORE REPAIR WORK! Once I told the guy we would love to help out once their unpaid and overdue invoice from a year ago is settled, he stuttered and didn't have much to say. He transferred me and as usual, it went nowhere. I have all the emails, names, numbers, documents and bankruptcy paperwork to prove everything I just stated. Unfortunately this appears to be a big company taking advantage of a small company. WE JUST WANT WHAT IS RIGHT.....pay the invoice you agreed to pay. $550 is not a lot of money but it is what you agreed to pay.
The original review is below and indicates a higher rating than I give it now. The install went quickly and was complete in September. We are now at January 9 and the system still has not been energized/activated. From the communi action we have received from the power company there was a payment due to them before the power company would complete their review. I suspect the payment was not made when it was supposed to be. Promises were made to us it should be a matter of time before the system was approved and it would be activated. We were told December 26 was the deadline for the power company to approve the system and it would be turned on. A few days ago we received communication from the power company the system design could not be approved without changes. Supposedly changes were made and now we are supposed to hear back with in ten days. Let me just say I am not holding my breath. I have made calls to customer service without dependable responses. Promises continue to be made that activation is close. I have heard that for 3.5 months. We have panels. We just don't know if they work yet.*****************************The install seemed to go smoothly. We have yet to have a final inspection. The only company concern we had with the installation is a communication issue. We were informed that the crew would arrive between 7 and 9 AM. The first day they did not arrive til after 10. No call or message to let us know they would be late. The second time the crew came out we received the same message, arrival would be between 7 and 9 AM. They did not arrive til 4 PM. Just a courtesy heads up would have been appreciated. The crew was friendly and courteous. The other issue which was between the crew and the company was a week before the install there were some changes that were made in the panels and their configuration. The crew had not received the changes. We are trying to work out an issue with the irrigation system. After the install, I noticed the irrigation system was not operating. The breakers and been popped. I am not sure if the there is a connection between the two, but the proximity in time with the install and the malfunction of the irrigation system would seem to suggest there is.
Crews were very informational, made sure I was happy with the out-come of conduit positions which they ended up going above and beyond. Also sales rep checked in and was happy to help with any other questions I had. All in all had good experience and would recommend blue raven to people wanting solar.
I met with a Blue Raven Solar sales representative on 11/20/24. I was told I would get a solar system installed that would supply enough electricity to support my household. Instead of paying 500 a month for electricity, I will pay 400 a month for the solar panels. I was told they would be installed in January 2025. I was told my loan payment would stay the same as long as I put the money I get from the solar tax credit towards my loan at the end of the year. I have recently learned that I don't actually get any money back from the tax credit to put towards the loan. I was told my system would be energized a week to a week and a half after installation. My sales representative said he would explain everything and guide me every step of the way. Now he doesn't answer or return my calls. My system was installed 3/19/25. It is still not energized or turned on. Every time I was able to contact support in the last 5 months I was told a week to week and a half and my system will be energized. I also learned that I will be paying for my solar system AND electricity because my system will not produce enough electricity for my household. I am currently paying over $400 loan payments for the solar panels and paying $500 a month for electricity. My panels have been installed for 5 months already.I looked up the manufacturer's installation guidelines for the solar panels and BRS did not follow the manufacturer's guidelines for installation and that voids the warranty on my solar panels. I looked at the blueprints from BRS and they are not even installed correctly according to their own blueprints. The panels are supposed to be a minimum of 10 cm from the surface of the roof, they are not. There is supposed to be a minimum of 10 mm between panels for expansion, there is no gap. Panels are not properly supported. They are supposed to be supported with a minimum of 2 mounts on each side, I have multiple panels with one support on a side. Some panels are scratched and damaged. Jagged cuts on the skirtting. Sealant spilled on panels. On 7/30 I contacted BRS support regarding my issues with installation and they advised me to email quality control. I emailed quality control on 7/30. I called support 8/9 and they said wait the rest of the week and if I haven't heard back from quality control by the end of the week call back. On 8/14 I called support again and they contacted quality control and I was told I would have a response from quality control by the end of the day. I got an email later that day assuring me not to worry, everything is installed correctly, they will be sending a technician to add supports to the panels with 1 support on a side. I can clearly see that my solar panels are not properly installed and have voided warranties.I hope I can prevent this from happening to someone else that is willing to believe whatever a solar company tells them.
Very happy with the entire process of the purchase and installation of my Blue Raven solar system. My first contact was with Ryan who explained how the system worked, how large of a system I would need to meet my goals, the cost, federal credits and financing options. I was impressed with the amount of work and research that was put into preparing the presentation for my system. He was available throughout the whole process and answered all my questions in a very timely manner. The installation crew was very courteous and professional and completed the installation in one day. All the people I talked with at the main office were very friendly and knowledgeable. Now I’m only waiting for final approval from my local energy provider so my system can be activated.I've lowered my rating from 5 stars to 2. Since the initial installation, it's been over 2 months and my system has still not been approved for connection. Blue Raven has attempted to get approval for my connection 3 times and all have been refused by my utility company because of improper paperwork and photo's. after several calls to Blue Raven, who keeps promising they will make it right, I'm still waiting to be connected. I'll wait until after they get me connected and see what they do to make it right for the months I could have been in operation before I give them my final rating.Solar system finally activated. I raised my rating to 4 stars. System is working great. I would have gave a five star rating except for all the issues I dealt with during the interconnection process. To be fair, part of the issue may have been the fault of my utility company but I still feel that responsibility to resolve the matter in a more timely matter fell on Blue Raven Solar.
