Complete Scam and Bait-and-Switch Operation. > I arranged to purchase a premium 445W Sunplus solar panel from Matt at Payoff Solar. After we agreed on the hardware, they immediately tried a classic bait-and-switch, telling me they were "sold out" and trying to push a weaker 405W panel on me instead. Despite the changing story, I still made the drive to their location at our specifically agreed-upon time. I arrived, and they completely ghosted me. They wouldn't answer my texts and refused to answer the door.?I run my own business, and this is the most unprofessional, unreliable operation I have ever dealt with. Do not waste your time or your gas driving out here. They will string you along, try to downgrade your hardware, and then hide behind a locked door. Avoid at all costs.
Matt was helpful and answered all my questions. I was a bit skeptical to buy from someone out of state, he's in UT and I'm in CA, but everything turned out just fine. He shipped the 10x micros, 10x cables, and ECU-R quick and the experience was better than buying locally. He even threw some end connectors for free which was very helpful. I really wish I purchased the solar panels from him too, but I delayed the decision and then wanted panels right away to finish the project before the end of 2025 for tax credits. He can be trusted and his prices are great. Highly recommend.
