Recent reviews cite mixed experiences after installation, with several customers mentioning slow follow-up, difficulty reaching support, and concerns about post-warranty service costs. Some earlier reviewers noted smooth installations, while later feedback focuses on communication gaps and delays in scheduling service visits. Customers suggest verifying response times and clarity on service terms before proceeding.
Buyer beware. Once your 2 year warranty runs out and you need them to come out and fix anything, they will charge you $349 up front before coming out and if they have to come back to install said part they will charge you another $349. It is ridiculous. We originally bought our solor system through Blue Raven 5 years ago and they were great but ever since being sold to these guys it has gone down hill.
Do not sign up with them. Don't go through what we're going through.I'll spare you all the details, but I've tried to keep a careful record. Basically, they were responsive when we were first signing up, said they were offering us a special marketing deal, too, and then no meaningful work has been done. Because of that, we are no longer able to receive federal incentives that were totalling to $11,000 (Big Beautiful Bill ending those in 2025). With contacting them about that and attempting to cancel, we've been handed off from one person to the next. People who then don't return phone calls or leave the office and don't leave any one else for us to call. Eventually, someone in Customer Retention spoke to my husband today, continued to hand him off, until they finally said they're going to assess us a fee of $1,200. So their retention policy is to come at you with an outrageous fee to force you to stick with them? $1,200 for no work done on our property at all.Don't work with them. They're a terrible business and for a family trying to save some money on our bills, such a big fee REALLY hurts. Horrible.
Ive had Blue Raven for several years. Im having issues with one of my inverters. Long story short Ive paid to have someone come out, who never did and I have security cameras to prove this. When someone finally comes out, he takes the inverter and leaves. I ask him (Raul) why he was leaving. He told me that he had a customer who has an emergency and needed to go. He also stated he would be back the following week. I later get a text saying he would be back in mid December. Ive been chasing this for months. They have zero issue charging for the visit/installations.. but they never materialize. I hate writing bad reviews but people need to know that they do not have great follow-up/system support and make you feel like you've been sold a "bait & switch"
My recommendation is to look at all other installers and make sure length of time in business and post warranty customer support is adequate for your needs. Next is my experience. Blue Raven has installed two solar panel systems for me, one on my prior home which we ended up selling about nine months after the install and the second system installed on our current home about three years ago. Both installs were great. Can't say anything more. We had a panel on our current home that stopped producing and it turned out to be a pinched wire. Unfortunately, the tech replaced the wrong panel and then broke it trying to reinstall it. I guess this model of panel wasn't available anymore and so a different looking panel was installed. Now, since our labor warranty has expired, I'm struggling with the $780 Blue Raven wants to charge me to come out and install an cellular antenna because for some reason, our exterior panel doesn't want to connect to our wifi. $780! I'm also bugged that I can't call Blue Raven to ask questions. You can only contact a call center if you want to talk to someone and they have no technical info. I understand a lot of people aren't very handy. I'm a pretty handy guy. You open the case, install what is basically a computer card with an antenna, shut the case and do a bit of programming. A remote wifi antenna can be installed as well, according to Enphase, which I think would be cheaper. There's a USB port on the back of the case so just plug and play but, apparently, this option isn't available. I just want to talk to someone at Blue Raven and not a call center. I can't even contact them let them know how I feel and to see if we can work something out. Anyway, I'll get off my soapbox. Maybe Blue Raven isn't any different than any other installer.
Started installation process beginning July was given estimated windows. Knowing that a lot of processes would take time I let most of it just run its course. About two months later I was the one who had to reach out to get a status update and still couldn’t get a proper update. After getting the run around I was told it would be another week or so. After that date passed I still didn’t hear back. Early that following week I got a message that was oh, by the way your permit and everything ready and we have an installation open tomorrow. Unfortunately it didn’t work for me and had to wait another month for an available time to open up. Day of installation was pretty smooth tech’s nice and help. After some struggles overall I wish the commutation was better but am happy with the installation. Hopefully they actually reach back out when batteries are no longer on back order and I can get some backup installed.
