I have been having issues with the electric company and their failure to correctly measure the feedback to the grid from my solar system. Scott & Chris went far above and beyond to guide me, educate me and answer a barrage of questions from this newbie homeowner (with their solar system). It was absolutely more than I could have expected, especially in this field/industry. They really know their, well…stuff!

Scott, walked us through a difficult time , even though he did not install our system. We regret we did not use his company as he was extremely helpful in resolving our issue with our solar system. The other company we used to install our system would not return our call when we had trouble. Scott went out of his way to help us resolve the issue with the system. If you want total peace of mind and less stress please call on CenTex Solar LLC to install your solar system. Scott is your man to give you the professional and caring help you need.

This review has been a long time coming. First and foremost, kudos to Scot and his team for all the solar and related work over the years. We love our system and the benefits it provides. Our initial installation in July 2016 included 40 panels on our roof plus all the related components necessary for system to operate. Scot took care of all the permits needed to make system operational and allow us to connect our system to the grid to sell back our excess to our electric provider. The best benefit at this time in our opinion was limiting what we had to pull from the grid by using solar power during the day. We've been with TXU for 25+ years and chose to remain with them but there have been other providers over the years to sell back excess generation as well as receive credit towards your bills so you have options. In August 2021, Solar CenTex built a steel pergola at one end of our pool with 15 glass solar panels on top, added a 2nd inverter to handle the new panels and installed a 16kW LG backup battery connected to the original inverter for storage and use during the night or when the grid goes down. The backup battery was a huge benefit. Finally, in June 2025 we added a 2nd 16kW LG backup battery along with a new main inverter to push more juice from house solar panels to replenish the batteries quicker and meet more daytime electrical needs. Our system was optimized for maximum battery use so we limit pulling power from grid as long as possible day and night. Also, we were able to add additional circuits to the backup system when grid is down so that more of our house is covered. Lastly, when the grid is up our system now uses battery power to supplement what is generated during the day from the solar panels and at night to cover all circuits in our house. We have two electrical mains for our house due to swimming pool needs and expansion to our home over the years and Scot's team handled everything in stride. I can't say enough about the quality of work and availability to troubleshoot system issues or just answer questions by everyone at Solar CenTex. Scot and his team are very responsive when contacted. We definitely recommend solar panels and backup batteries, all installed and serviced by Solar CenTex. And, if you happen to have a system installed by someone else but need assistance, give Solar CenTex a call and they'll do their best to get you up and running again. There is definitely something to be said for staying local when you have a reputable company close by.

When we were house hunting, we first encountered Solar CenTex because they installed a solar system on one of the houses. My wife Googled Solar CenTex and read excellent reviews, but it ended there because we did not buy that house. So when we decided to go solar, we remembered the reviews we read about Solar CenTex, and I reached out to them. From the day I signed the contract, we had the solar panels up and running in no time.

Scot and Brandi explained the pros and cons of the two solar systems, SolarEdge and Enphase. I did a lot of research before going in, and they answered all my questions. With what I learned from them, I could make an informed decision on what system would work best for me. I also mentioned that I saw a house with the conduit running on the roof; Brandi stopped me and told me, “We do not do that.” I love how the installation of the solar system looks aesthetically.

I know Chris worked behind the scenes, applying for the permits and following up to ensure they got the permits to keep the installation on schedule. So with those permits granted by the City, I know my installation is code-compliant.

Zack showed up the day before the installation to get started by measuring and marking off where the rails and panels would go.

It took Zack, Trinidad, Mike, and Josh only three days to install 39 panels on our close to 12 and 12-pitch roof. They could have finished in one day if my roof was a standard pitch (4:12 slope). They are very good at their work, and the finished product is proof of that. Trinidad also answered all of my questions that came up during the installation.

Fred and Todd got the wiring and electrical finished and looking nice. As promised, the electrical conduits are not on the roof but are run in the attic in flex tubing. So the only conduit seen is from the attic to the convertor.

If you are in the service area of Solar CenTex, I highly recommend you look them up. They are a local solar company located in Harker Heights, and their website on the “About Us” tab about a quarter way down that page shows their service area. Additionally, you would not need to worry about searching for someone to service your panels if they installed them. It was a seamless process from start to finish. It was a pleasure to work with them to install the system, and we look forward to working with them in the future.

If this review helped you go with Solar CenTex, it would be nice if you mentioned my name so I can get paid, Jarrel Kaaloa ??

Adam Stear on Solar CenTex

We are SO happy with our recent solar panel and battery system install!
We were kind of guinea pigs for one of the 16.7kW popular LG batteries that Solar CenTex is starting to carry and install. There were some things that they had to work out to make sure that the system was working the way that it was supposed to, but I told Scot that I'd rather the system take longer to put in and it be put in RIGHT than it to be put in fast and not well. While it did take longer than initially anticipated, they were still well within their contracted time for the install... AND I still recommend them to others even with some of the hiccups.
What I appreciated the most apart from the quality equipment and supplies installed with care was how well their team works together to help their customers. Scot, Sabrina, Chris and the rest of the team were very patient with my concerns and questions throughout the whole process. This is huge because sometimes I have a lot of questions!
Also, they don't just do the installation then forget about you after it's done. They are prepared to offer kind and thorough customer support on their work and the equipment they installed.
While this was expensive for me, I feel good about this purchase. Especially because of what happened recently with the ERCOT debacle. I FULLY anticipate that they are going to drop the ball this summer again... I just hope people don't suffer again because of it.

Thank you, Solar CenTex team for this peace of mind!
