Approximately 2 years ago we inquired about the benefits of solar for our home. Listened to the sales pitch and decided to proceed. (We had researched the company and potential cost savings. Our mistake was trusting the sales person I guess). The neighborhood we live in is wooded in some areas so we never expected to earn money from the system rather wanted the security of not having to worry when we lost power (82 year old Mom shares our home so needed a reliable heat source no matter what the weather) and were hoping the system would pay for itself until the home improvement loan was repaid. We have given it months now but ($40,000 dollars later) for us it has been a wasted investment, no change in our electric bill, no cost savings that I can see, not even enough to cover the loan payments so still paying for solar panels with zero benefits. The installers were great, the owner tried to "make it right" by installing some extra panels but nothing has changed. Bottom line for us at least is... if there are large trees around you don't waste your money with solar. We did have trees taken down, however the trees that remain are not on our property so removing additional trees is not an option and even if it was possible we are talking about another $2500 a tree. Yes, the owner of the company offered to install a 2nd battery for us at an out of pocket cost to me of more than $2000 which I could not afford. Although I appreciate the offer it does not change my outcome if I cannot afford it.

UPDATE 2026: They still somehow manage to make things even better. Had a few hiccups and if the company does half of what they've done for me, they would make anyone happy. Ernie and literally everyone that works for YOUR HOME SOLAR has gone above and beyond treating a customer the right way. As noted in first post I have had a horrible time with a 1 in a million issue (hardware)that has lasted for about 6months.I have really been trying to be understanding of the issue and I hope that's why folks treated a customer the right way.This company has done nothing but deserve a five star review, and after talking to them they put me in touch with folks way above their pay grade to help me. Only so much an installer can do, or so I thought. Thanks guys, wouldn't want anyone else to put up with me.FIRST POST:Hoping I can change this, and unfortunately almost all my issues are not with YourHomeSolar, but due to the ineffective nature of them fixing the issues I am forced to leave this here.For anyone looking to get Solar for their property this is a good place to start, I just hope your finished products work a little better then mine.People are great, work is great, but unfortunately all the other variables are no good. SolArk and the inverter I was sold has been nothing but a headache. Unfortunately I feel like the rare exception to a company that does great work. It has been a very expensive rare exception, and am slowly feeling like someone took a lot of money from me and are laughing all the way to the bank. That feeling is amplified after multiple visits to home to fix things, bad fuses, bypass switch cause my inverter got "fried", new control boards and wifi boards, all culminating into the same problems with the inverter , which are still happening almost 6 months after install.Again, can't wait to change this review but before you spend A LOT of money on something like Solar, make sure you do more research on the product you are getting. I unfortunately was kinda shafted, for now at least.
I highly recommend this company and group of technicians! They repaired and restored a solar system in my home that was not functioning properly. They explained in great detail what was being done and the process needed to return it to proper functioning. It was accomplished efficiently and with expertise. Additionally, they were just nice, kind and approachable individuals. They are THE BEST!! And they earned every penny!!
