Absolute Solar did a terrific job on our 9.25 kWh system in 2023. We were able to take advantage of the tax credits (which came off our 2024 taxes) and they helped us with a local LBWL utility credit of $2,000 as well. We will look forward to having them install future upgrades such as a battery backup and EV charger when we're ready!

I do not recommend this company under any circumstances. My experience with them was terrible and I could write a saga, but here are 3 brief points:

1. Communication was incredibly poor. I was told I’d have a March install date, which got moved to April, then May, then later in May. I understand that delays happen, but each time I only found out about the delay because I reached out them the night before to ask for literally any info about the install, and received a last minute reply of “oh it’s not tomorrow morning, it’s actually next month.” If I hadn’t reached out, they would have no-showed me over and over.

2. Skill was also low. When the panels were finally installed, they failed the city inspection. The Absolute rep who was there for the inspection could not answer the inspector’s most basic questions, and did not even bring the proper equipment. Although Absolute had the audacity to blame the city inspector for THEIR failure, a second inspection revealed that they had indeed messed up the installation. I have no confidence in their ability to install panels correctly.

3. Professionalism was abysmal. After the first failed city inspection, it took a month to get a second inspection, during which time Absolute did nothing to fix their issue, reach out to me, etc. After the month long wait, on inspection day #2, no one from Absolute showed up! I had to beg the inspector to stay (to avoid another month long delay) while frantically calling Absolute. Absolute had the audacity to tell me their rep was already at my house! When the rep finally arrived 20 min late, he again could not answer basic questions and told the inspector “I’m still learning, I’m not sure what all that means.” Worst of all, everyone I spoke to (and I mean EVERYONE, each rep, every person I called, etc.) at the company passed the buck. They refused to answer my questions or take accountability. Instead they all told me “I’m not the right person to talk to / I wasn’t there that day / I wasn’t part of that team / etc.” NO ONE was professional— it’s the bare minimum to expect them to do their job correctly and take accountability for screw ups. I got a LOT of promises in the sales pitch and there was no follow through once the contract was signed and the money was paid.

I raised all of these issues with Pete Morgan (Director of Service). His answer was to give me a measly 1.1% discount! After I trusted Absolute Solar with such a huge financial investment, this was a slap in the face.

PLEASE do not make the mistake I did by working with Absolute and choose another company instead.

We have been incredibly pleased with the work that absolute solar did on our solar panel install. From initial contact through install and after, they have been professional, courteous, and communication has been excellent. I will be recommending them to everyone I know.

Update in 2024: we purchased a battery to pair with out solat array. Absolute is still the best! They got us an amazing set up and even made sure we had the most updated technology. I just cannot say enough good things about them!

They installed my entire solar backup system. I needed a system that was done professionally so that my house can be resold easily. I compared several companies and ultimately decided on Absolute Solar for a few key reasons:
- They were the most responsive to several rounds of questions as I learned through what I needed in a solar production system, always thorough and knowledgeable in their responses and willing to figure out how to work out details before committing (I like to make sure details are worked out ahead of time).
- Undoubtedly due to the back-and-forth during our sales and proposal discussions, their proposal out of 4 I received from Michigan companies best fit my needs and wants.
- Local company operating with low overhead, which meant savings for me, and supporting my town's economy.

The work took 6 months to schedule, which is standard from what I can tell about this industry. Once the crew got here, they had the work done in about a week. The crew was courteous. I expected the yard to be torn up by the trenching, but they did the best they could. Everything works as expected and the system is precisely what was proposed 6 months before install. Several solar/electrical devices they installed are only available through contractors, and it's a good system with easy production tracking, so all-in-all I'm glad I went this route.

We had a wonderful experience with Absolute Solar, from beginning to end. The staff was sincerely interested in our neighborhood center and wanted to provide us with the best service -- something I'm sure they do with all their customers. We had a couple of "hiccups" along the way with permits and roofer questions. They worked through all these without giving us any worries and kept the project moving forward. They worked graciously with the team of funders who came together to make the project possible. We would recommend Absolute Solar without reservation to anyone interested in having solar panels on their home or building.
