TRU Off Grid - Solar & Energy Storage

Outstanding Solar Installation Experience I couldn't be happier with my solar and battery backup installation from TRU Off Grid! Jack, the owner, made the entire process seamless from start to finish. System Details: We installed a 10.68 kW solar system using 24 Longi 445-watt panels paired with a 20kW EP Cube battery backup system in our garage, running on dual 7.5kW inverters. TRU Off Grid also upgraded our electrical panel to 200 amps to accommodate the new system and allow for future electrical upgrades such as a heat pump for HVAC and pool and water heating and EV car charging. Financial Support: Jack was incredibly helpful navigating the financial incentives. He assisted us with securing the $40,000 Canada Greener Homes loan and helped us claim both the $5,000 provincial rebate for the solar system and another $5,000 rebate for the battery backup system. He even helped coordinate the required energy audit. This level of support made the investment much more manageable. Installation Process: The actual installation took just 2 days, though there was about 4 weeks of logistical coordination before and after the panels went on the roof - all handled professionally by the TRU Off Grid team. The project was completed in June 2025, right on schedule and on budget. Service Quality: The customer service was exceptional throughout. Jack and his team were very responsive to questions and concerns. All the installers and electricians were professional, knowledgeable, and respectful of our property. When minor logistical issues arose, they were rectified quickly without hassle. Performance: The system has been working great since installation. We're seeing the energy savings we expected, and the peace of mind from having battery backup during outages is invaluable. Bottom Line: I highly recommend TRU Off Grid for anyone considering solar and battery backup in the Milton area. From initial consultation through final installation, they delivered professional service, expert guidance, and a quality system that performs as promised. Would definitely use them again and refer friends and family!

I called last week and we planned a date to get my solar panels installed. We ran into some complications with the dimensions I have chosen but the guys there. Jacob and Jack were very informative and were able to come up with a solution I was happy with. Overall a very good experience, happy with the price and very happy with the results.

We are planning to leave on a month long trip to Newfoundland next week. We had thought about a power supply for our camping trailer when off-grid and a backup for home use when not away, at the last minute decided to go ahead and purchase a Delta 2 with 220 Solar panels. I contacted Eco flow.com by phone to see about paying for faster shipping but their answer was we only do the free standard shipping and could not arrange for faster. They suggested I call FedEx myself! In a word their customer service was "useless" I searched on-line for places selling the Eco Flow Delta 2. Calling TRU Off Grid and speaking to Jack (May 12 am) was one of the most rewarding experiences in customer service I have ever had! Having worked in customer service, and being proud of my interaction with customers, I appreciated the way I was treated, efficient but with an amazing personal touch that made you feel appreciated as a customer. The order was shipped about 2pm Monday May 12 and we received it ( we live in the "sticks" in Lanark Highlands Ontario) about 2pm Tuesday May 13!!!! And no, there was no extra charge for fast shipping! When we upgrade and buy add on batteries to connect to the Delta 2, or any other accessories we will be buying from TRU Off Grid, Milton Ontario.

I had purchased a 100ah Dakota Lithium and a charger to go with it from Tru Off Grid at the sportsman show this year. I was very happy with the competitive price point, as well as the customer service that they provided me both at the point of purchase and afterwards. As it happens, I had some troubleshooting to do some time after the purchase. The staff took very good care of me and helped me get back on the water as quickly as they could. I couldn't have asked for better customer service, even weeks after the sale. I would recommend this company to anyone who is trying to decide on where to buy their batteries. The service you get here is second to none.
