Overall, it was a fairly good experience. The process took about 1 year from signing of the contract so one must be patient. We had some issues with the electric utility(hydroone) as a result of having a GenerLink transfer switch and hydroone not wanting to install a bi-directional meter on top of it. mySolar was on top of that issue from the beginning and it was eventually sorted out. I would recommend mySolar for your solar project.
Five stars for mySolar! From the initial consultation to the final installation, the team was professional, transparent, and communicative. The installation crew was punctual, respectful of my property, and did a very clean job with the wiring and panel placement. They took the time to explain how the monitoring app works and answered all my technical questions. Great craftsmanship and top-tier service. The connection to the grid and the two-way metering was completed in October 2025, thus I still need more time to confirm the performance of my 7.12 kW system, but so far the things look great! I highly recommend mySolar!
I was visited by a door-to-door salesman back in March 2025. I was interested in Solar and provided the photo of the panel and copy of the bill that he requested. The salesman was very professional and we made an appointment to go over the details. We had our appointment and everything sounded good so I agreed to go with MySolar. This is where the problems started. I had the EnerGuide pre-install assessment completed, I paid the deposit of the approximately $2700 and then I waited. I waited and waited. I sent emails and was told they were busy, being just before summer I understood that would happen. I sent more emails looking for updates. I sent an email on July 5 again asking for an update, and I called and told the representative that I was beginning to think they were a fraudulent company. On August 5, 2025, another month later, I get an email stating that due to "bandwidth limitations" they were unable to move forward with my project and I would be getting a refund. After all that waiting, they cancelled the project. I then had to harass them over the next couple of weeks to actually get my deposit back.After all this, I was still interested in Solar. I spoke with some people in my neighbourhood and they used SolarYYC. Solar YYC have managed to complete the project with more professionalism, almost $10,000 cheaper, and in less time than I waited for an email response from MySolar.
From initial quote to final commissioning, the mySolar team has kept us informed and ensured that our process was as smooth as it could be with all the moving parts (applications, assessments, building permit, weather!).The installation is neat and tidy, from the roof to the wiring to the electrical panel. The included module monitoring provides a simple view of panel performance and energy generation (instantaneous and cumulative).In the end, the system delivers as promised!
Had always been interested in solar but zero clue where to start. My Solar came to our neighborhood and from there held our hand to lead through the process. We’re not finished yet (just had panels installed) but very excited to soon be collecting our own power! Many thanks to Marie who has answered questions and helped from the start! The install staff was friendly and cleaned up after.
