Edit: NetZero's response claims they "have no intention of running from our obligations." It has now been two months since they last responded to me regarding the issue below, which looks very much like 'running from their obligations.'At this point, I'd steer people away from Forme (now apparently named NetZero), especially if you're considering a battery with your solar. One of the most important things to me when choosing an installer was their ability to monitor my system and proactively reach out if they saw a problem. I had the unfortunate experience of installing solar at a prior home, and having the installer and manufacturer go out of business. Forme sold me on the fact that they'd be able to monitor my system remotely and proactively reach out to me or Enphase to handle problems; they even showed me an example of the interface they use.If they are actually using this monitoring system, I've never seen evidence of it. I've had Enphase reach out directly a number of times, but not Forme. Most recently, my entire system stopped working properly. Because I've had so many issues with my equipment reporting, I wasn't able to discern that the system itself wasn't working properly. Forme never reached out, and because our system wasn't working, we ended up with around $1,000 of electricity bills we wouldn't have otherwise generated. I got in touch with Forme in August of 2025 and after a couple of replies (weeks or months after my emails) I've gotten nowhere.Likewise, a number of issues cropped up during and after my install with Forme. While things generally got sorted out (credit to them), it often took weeks or months just to get a response. Most notably their install of my battery backup system was a mess. It took Forme multiple attempts to install the battery, including having me run around the house to see if they could figure out which circuits were backed up, and then still backing up the wrong circuits. Keep in mind, they had upgraded my panel, so it should have been simple to figure this out. Considering that new residential solar in California is geared entirely to systems with batteries, I wouldn't consider using Forme at this point.Other issues I ran into in the past:-Their salesman guaranteed a battery credit for my install from the utility, which I never received (Forme did make me whole on this promise, but it took two years).-Permission to operate took two months, instead of the two weeks they advised.-CTs were installed backwards.-When repairing some microinverters, their tech cycled my home power over, and over, and over again rapidly, destroying a bunch of electronics (Forme covered this, but it's a good thing I was home while it was happening or I would have had no idea why all my electronics were blown)And, a bunch of other small issues. I understand things go wrong, but most of what occurred with Forme seemed preventable.
We worked with Leanne and Mark on our solar project and had a good experience. Mark was patient walking us through the system design and expectations. I enjoyed working with Mark who made sure the install crew stayed on schedule and treated our home and roof work with care. The install team was professional, cleaned up daily, and paid attention to small details that other companies we looked at did not. Permitting took time, but that was expected and well communicated. Everything passed inspection without problems. Solid experience overall.
I worked with NetZero Energy, formerly Forme Solar, and had a positive overall. The team was easy to work with and made communication simple.Nilda took the time to explain the process, answered our questions, and set expectations. The roof work and installation went smoothly. The team started their days at 7am and was professional. They left everything clean and everything felt well managed. What I appreciated most was that they checked in after the work was completed to make sure everything was working properly. It did not feel like we were forgotten once the job was done.Overall, a solid and professional experience. We would recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable solar and roofing company.
Forme installed a Franklin 15kwh battery for me. As far as the battery's functionality, it has been flawless. The installation looks extremely professional/clean. All work went smooth, on schedule, and it was an extreme pleasure having the Forme crew at my home. The customer service is excellent, the team is communicative, friendly, honest, and happy to answer any questions and explain how this solar/battery/NEM thing works.I would encourage anyone looking to install, upgrade, repair anything solar / solar storage related to give the team at Forme Solar a call.
I recently had a solar panel and battery system installed by Forme Solar, and I’m quite pleased with the overall experience. Here’s a summary of how things went:The ProcessThe initial consultation regarding my utility bill was seamless. Nilda provided clear, detailed explanations and answered all my questions about the system’s functionality. Although the installation took slightly longer than expected, the team was professional, courteous, and left the site clean and organized.System PerformanceThe system has been performing well so far. The solar panels are generating energy as intended, and the battery has already proven its value by activating during a few outages. While it’s still early to gauge the full impact on my SCE bill, I’m optimistic about the potential savings.Customer SupportPost-installation support exceeded my expectations. During the final inspection, Alex walked me through the system’s monitoring process with patience and clarity, which was incredibly helpful.Final ThoughtsChoosing Forme Solar for my solar installation was a great decision. Despite a minor delay during the installation process, the overall experience was positive. I’d confidently recommend Forme Solar to anyone considering a transition to solar energy to reduce their electricity costs.Pros:• Clear, transparent communication throughout the process• Professional and respectful installation team• Reliable battery backup during power outagesCons:• Slight delay in installation• Awaiting measurable cost savingsThis has been a strong start, and I’m excited to see how the system continues to perform over time.
