Had the solar panel system installed a couple years ago. Was touch and go to get it up and running by the SREC time frame, to get the credits.Completed within hours of the deadline, even though it was a deal 4 months prior. Now system says " not reporting " ( not producing) called Southern Light 4 times within 2 days without a call back.I can understand being busy, possibly short staffed. But to not return my call is not acceptable. I went to the business address to talk with someone, it is basically a mail drop at a locked door at a warehouseSo no attempt to satisfy a customer after the sale.Where is the basic common business courtesy? I say do not do business with Southern Light Solar! While waiting for a call back, I randomly called Isakson Solar, who answered the phone! Talked with Ryan, said even though they used different solar technology he would look at my system and help me.So another company who didn't install my system was willing to help while Southern Solar never even called me back!
I signed a contract with SouthernLight Solar to install 36 panels on my property in April of 2019. After major delays the panels were placed on my roof in November 2019; But I had to wait until March of 2020 for the system to be interconnected. Immediately after interconnection one array of 12 Panels had production issues. To date I am still waiting on SouthernLight to come fix the malfunctioning 12 panels. As of now they are not answering any of my calls. My experience with SouthernLight has been horrible; I am considering legal avenues for damages. Even to date, they have failed to submit the proper paperwork for my smart credits. My advice is, had I known this is how things will play out; I would have stayed away form Alex Doucet and Chris Sheldon. Nice salesmen, poor and dishonest workmanship. Stay away.
I have had my solar panels since October 2016. It has been everything I could ask for. Besides not having an electric bill anymore, together with the SREC credits It is more than the amount of our solar loan and that's considering that I put in a new roof and had several trees removed. It has been a very positive experience and I tell anyone who asks to GO SOLAR! Thank you to the team at Southern Light Solar.
Southern Light did a great job installing panels to power my Tesla. They were super helpful in figuring out a workable solution for my roof orientation and implemented it perfectly. Very happy with the service
We had panels installed on our roof by Southern Light Solar over 3 years ago and successfully received credit for the power until Oct. 2018 but we have not had any credit from them since that time. We called when we returned home in April, 2019 and several weeks later an employee arrived and said we needed a new part for the outside meter. This part did not arrive until September but it is now January 2020 and we are still not getting any credit toward our electric bill! I have called the office in New Bedford and talked with Lionel LaFleur several times but recent phone calls are going unanswered and their message machine is not taking messages currently. I have had no choice but to contact the MA attorney general's office about this problem as the company is not doing anything to help us with this issue. I would not give this company even a 1 star!It is now February 2020 and I still am not receiving any credit from the panels we put on our roof three years ago. The last credit we got was in September 2018! I talked a month ago with the CEO who said they were about to install a new part with no charge to us but we still are not receiving any credit from oiur panels! I have left many unanswered phone calls on their phone but to date have not had a return call. I am very frustrated and do not understand why this company will not fulfill its obigation to us. We have a 25 warranty on these panels so this may require legal action to get what we were promised when the panels were installed on our home.
