Recent reviews often note helpful communication, transparency on options, and guidance through permitting and installation. Several customers mention specific staff by name and describe responsive support when roadblocks arose. There is at least one older review citing delays and communication issues during a management transition. Overall ratings trend positive with many homeowners reporting a smooth process and clear explanations.

Recently completed installing home solar system. They listened to my concerns, persevered with a complicated job and were entirely competent and professional.

It’s been a great pleasure working with the larger team at Whaling City Solar.

Some earlier negative reviews alluded to a change in management, which I can confirm has been for the best.

We encountered some roadblocks throughout the early stages of our process - which John was willing to navigate side-by-side, as opposed to walking away from our project.

John, Dan, and the entire team have been extremely helpful, thorough, and responsive throughout the process.

The cumulative experience of the team, paired with the end product they’ve delivered is a value to us in and of itself.

I would highly recommend partnering with this team for any solar project.

Working with John, Dan, and Richelle at Whaling City Solar was a great experience throughout the entire process.

They were very informative early on to help me understand how the process worked and what type of solution would work best for my house all with a no pressure quote/visit.

I felt that whaling city provided me with the most transparent information I received from other companies. They communicated well during the permit/install process and were able to get me up and running in about 2.5 months once the contract was signed. Would certainly recommend them for your home solar projects.

Brian Stewart on Whaling City Solar

I had a contract signed stating 12 weeks timeframe for most work being completed. During this time frame, the company had switched control to their parent company and I wasn’t informed of this until the electrician showed up to install my system. The work wasn’t even started on my house for 6 months. During that time I was promised my electric bill would be covered, which never happened. Week after week of promised start dates that never came left me hopeless on the entire installation.

When they finally did come out I was told 1-2 weeks install time, but it took 4 weeks of them showing up some days and not others and an email from me to get it finished.

They made multiple wiring mistakes some they found on their own and 1 I had to tell them about after they said the install was done because they did not check to make sure it was operating correctly.

I had to program the import/export meter myself because they didn’t after multiple trips to my house.

The wrong inverter was installed at first and I had to point it out to them.

Multiple times I had to email to find out why my project stalled. When they couldn’t complete the computer monitoring part of the job, they threatened to call the IRS if I didn’t pay them and they emailed my bank lies about me to try to get the bank to release the funds.

I will say that in the last few weeks this company has been more responsive like things are changing behind the scenes but I can’t say for sure
