I started looking into solar after getting our electric vehicle and we wanted to save on our electric bill. When I’m looking at the company, compatibility of the person and product quality is what I look for? Tesla was very rushed, like 30 minutes. The fact that when I called Andrew and got Andrew to come out to educate us to go solar was really the solidifying part of getting my business earned!
I found MidKnight Solar online and had great reviews. I reached out to Andrew and left a voicemail about wanting Solar and battery. He got back to me promptly and we scheduled a consultation for the next week. In the meantime, I got a couple quotes from different providers and they had some decent numbers. When Andrew came out, he flew the drone, took pictures of all the roofs and even designed the system more thoroughly than the engineers. He explained the value of Q cell and the vertically integrated supply chain, along with providing the updated Tesla power wall version three. He was very transparent, and as a business owner myself, I really enjoyed the vibrancy and conversation.I look forward to my install and thank you once more.
‘MidKnight Solar really helped me out with my solar system and the electrical repair work that was needed in getting it operational again. I purchased my solar system back in 2020 and the original installation company was so flaky to the point where it felt non existent. Turns out went out of business. Before I reached out to Andrew, there were a couple of companies I reached out to but none really assured me they could fix my problem. They only performed temporary fixes but didn't fix the root cause, seemingly just to get more money out of me. There were some fuses inside the AC disconnect box that have blown in the past year so I knew it was not solar panel or micro inverter related. This was a result of improper installation via incorrect wiring even down to the screws used. However, without the AC disconnect box functioning properly my solar system wasn’t producing any energy whatsoever.Andrew was very communicative right from the beginning. I explained the scope of what needed to be done, sent pictures over via text, and was placed on the schedule the following week for a site inspection Tuesday. That morning, a technician arrived at my property and inspected everything. In the afternoon, Andrew called me to explain the cost breakdown for the repair work. I found the price to be fair and actually lower than I anticipated (which was a bonus). I approved the quote, paid my invoice via QuickBooks, and the next day Wednesday morning a technician arrived with all the parts needed for the work.I am satisfied with the communication, photos of job completion, speed of repair, and materials used for my electrical work. The electrical equipment they use is made in the USA, which gives me a guarantee that it is quality material that will last.’
The product Sunpower offers plus the service that MidKnight provided was beyond my expectations. I’m a veteran that appreciates value and not being given the run around. My electric bill has gone through the roof since I bought my Tesla. Lowering my electricity bill was what prompted me into looking at solar. Randy, who is one of MidKnight’s consultants visited, sat down and educated me about how solar works, why solar is popular, and why choose Sunpower. Going over kilowatt hour usage and forecasting for the future is a big value piece not a lot of other solar companies went over with me, that’s what stood them apart. The MidKnight team has helped a lot of my Publix family and they have a good reputation with the community. I’m happy with my decision with them.
My FPL utility rates started to get expensive and that’s what started my curiosity in solar energy. SunPower is partnered up with AMEX where I work and they offer a good incentive to sign up.That’s where Andrew from MidKnight Solar comes. He came by and flew the drone to send schematics over to the engineers. Finally, after a little bit of back-and-forth, SunPower could not do the installation because it’s not registered for the county I’m in. Andrew said not a problem. He has the second best company that turn keys system which is Complete Solar. This is where things start to go downhill:The City of Davie has a lot of permits that need to get approved before anything home improvement wise can happen, this is why SunPower didn’t want to do Install. But Complete Solar misses the benchmark in terms of submitting correctly. After about five months from signing, I had a roof leak. A roofer came over and recommended to get a brand new roof due to the age. I told Andrew about this, and he had my best intentions and recommended I swap out the roof. He said it would suck if in five years after the solar install the roof starts to leak and it’s difficult to track where it could originate from. So I appreciate him, giving me his honest opinion. The roof cost is $20k but I needed to get it done to support the solar. The good part is Andrew is helping me with bundling of the solar and the roof so that way I get all the solar tax incentives that the government is giving out. After the roof was installed, we’re about eight months from signing. I got a notice from the Solar loan company that my finance agreement has expired. The agreement I had was a 2.99% fixed for 25 years. I was not gonna lose that especially since it wasn’t my fault and Complete Solar delayed the whole project pretty much. Also, I got the sense that the interest rates were going up, so the Solar loan company was trying to get out of financing such a low interest rate. Before my install has even started, I was already dealing with a headache. Once my install started, it turned into a migraine. The Install workers were horrible. They parked in my driveway. They didn’t even greet themselves to say hello. They punched a couple extra holes on the side of my house for the electrical and rearranged components without mentioning to me. It was honestly a pretty disheartening experience. Once the install was done, it really wasn’t. I still have a crew coming out to put the end caps on my rails. The solar loan company thought the install was done so they try to double bill me. I really couldn’t fathom how bad this all could’ve went. The only saving grace here is Andrew. He helped with the roof, he assisted getting the original loan approved, he got the install workers to fix the side of my house where the electrical was, he made sure I wasn’t double billed, he got the consumption monitoring added which was an extra charge for free. It’s one thing when a professional stands by his work, and everything goes smoothly according to plan with no hiccups. It’s another thing to stand behind your work, when everything outside of your control goes wrong. I’m talking the most worst experience ever. But you don’t leave the customer hanging. My system, and the Enphase monitoring platform actually have some technical issues. I reached out to Enphase, but they’re not offering any support. I reached out to Andrew and he’s getting someone from Enphase Corporate office in Canada to re-correct my ownership admission in my monitoring platform.I recommend MidKnight, Solar and the business Andrew is running.
