Santa Barbara Solar Group completely abandoned me by refusing to handle warranty services on the battery and inverter 6 years after installation. I wouldn't be surprised if they are no longer in business. I had to find another installer to take over.
CAUTION, BEWARE. I had solar panels installed back in 2023 on my home by SB Solar. That went fine. My system isn’t producing the expected amount of power so I tried to reach out to them. Ryan initially responded but then radio silence. Since then I’ve called, emailed, tried set up formal appointments online to try to get ahold of SB Solar but had no response. I even had my wife call with her phone number thinking that they may have been screening mine. Steve, the salesman, was touting a “25 year” warranty (which is also mentioned on their website, yet I can’t get ahold of them for simple questions 3 years later. I’m not one to write a lot of reviews but feel compelled to warn other potential customers.
Santa Barbara Solar Group did an amazing, stellar job in installing our solar panels. Steve was very responsive and answered all of our questions we had from start to finish. The whole process was super quick, and their installation crew were professional and got it all done in a single day. I highly recommend them.
I’ve had my solar for over 1year now and my bill-total-for the past 12 months has been $0.54! S.B. Solar was professional, courteous and helpful. They did the work asap once the county got their act together and gave us a permit.Steve,Ryan, Jeff and his crew were very good and efficient. I am very happy with their work and expertise. With the backup battery we’ve had a couple of outages and it kicks in immediately. It’s great. Great guys to work with!
I’m not really one for writing reviews as I tend to not put much trust into what I’m reading, but when Ryan and Vaughn asked me to write one at the conclusion of our project (and mentioned referrals were their primary way of gaining clients), I was happy to do so. As my neighborhood became more and more solar converted, I held off based on the feedback of my neighbors who each had experiences in which they could not in good conscience recommend their contractors. Solar was something I wanted to do, but was hesitant since I did not know where to turn. I’m having a hard time putting into words how happy I am that I held off until I was referred to SBS by a friend. They had not come across my radar when I was given their information, which was good, because if they had, it likely would have been from a disappointed neighbor. I am happy to say that my project went off without a hitch, and in the timeframe I was promised. My first appointment left me confident in the potential project, but I still had many questions and Ryan was kind enough to sit down with me again and answer every single one, a meeting that took up at least half of his work day. It was at that point that I was comfortable with my contractor selection, and their numbers were great, so I dove in head first. I’m now the 6th house on my street with solar, but the first that has a nice thing to say about the process. I’m very happy I chose SBS.
