Reviews frequently mention helpful explanations, patience during sign-up, and assistance resolving billing or account issues. Several customers cite specific representatives who took time to clarify how credits work and followed up after enrollment. A smaller number of reviews describe frustrations with excess credits and timing of bill adjustments. Overall sentiment trends positive with appreciation for communication and guidance.

I am a solar farm customer and do not recommend it. The generation companies over bank generation which you pay for and then those generation credits are lost as expired credits. In a 12 month period credits were built up in 9 of 12 months. Two years ago I had a loss worth $500 which I was reimbursed for. I sent them my usage bills covering a 12 month period and then periodically sent bills and they continued to build credits resulting in a loss again. You have no control over the process so any savings are lost in what is basically fraud. Responding to your comments. I have worked with Power Market Solar and they do not take action. They continue to over allocate even after my intervention. That is why this is fraud. Customers need to realize that a large effort is needed on a monthly basis because there is no report provided indicating upcoming loss of credits.

Dawson was absolutely fabulous, and If we had $100,000 to pay him we would. He made the program make sense when it was confusing and took his time explaining everything. We look forward to seeing him again and reaching out if we have questions.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Jace, who assisted us in signing up for Maine community solar. His professionalism and respectfulness made the entire process smooth and enjoyable. Not only did he guide us through the signup, but he also went above and beyond to help fix an issue with our bill that had been messed up by Nexamp. I truly appreciate his dedication and support. Highly recommend!

Five stars for Bryan Prudhomme with Maine Community Solar!!
I have had conversations with several solar representatives, had signed up with a company and waited two years for it to be operational when Bryan came to the door. He talked with my husband and me about the company he represented. He was polite, professional and helpful helping us with the process to enroll which took very little time to complete. Within a few months, we were receiving credit on our electric bill.
I recently had a question concerning a company I had signed with several years ago that had just become operational. Bryan found the info I needed and assured me if I had any questions in the future to contact him. Bryan is a knowledgeable resource with great customer service.
Thank you, Bryan!

Cory came to my door and was a perfect gentleman… I felt very comfortable with him. We didn’t have an easy time but he persisted through the technical difficulties. He was very informative and when he left I had a good understanding of the program. I also recommended some other people.

Frequently Asked Questions

Community solar lets you subscribe to a share of an offsite solar farm. You receive credits on your utility bill based on your share of generation. No panels are installed at your home or business. Enrollment is paperwork-based and tied to your utility account.

Your solar farm generates credits that offset your utility charges, and any program discount is applied according to your subscription terms. The timing and layout of credits can vary by utility and project. Maine Community Solar explains where to find these lines and what to expect in the first few cycles.

Credits are based on the solar farm’s generation and your subscription size. If usage is lower than expected, credits may accumulate and some programs have limits on carryover. The team can review your account and, where possible, adjust your subscription to better match your usage.

Contract terms vary by project and provider. Many programs allow cancellation with notice, but requirements and timelines differ. You’ll receive the specific agreement details before enrolling so you can review terms and any applicable fees.

Renters are typically eligible as long as they have a utility account in their name. If you move within the same utility territory, subscriptions may be transferable; otherwise, you may need to cancel with notice. The team can advise based on your location and project.
