Customer feedback often highlights clear communication during sales and design and attentive answers to questions. Many reviewers note smooth installations and timely coordination with subcontractors when needed. Battery backup performance during outages is a recurring positive theme. Some comments emphasize the company’s established regional presence as a deciding factor.
We installed rooftop solar (9.8kWh) and battery backup (43kWh) through IWS. One of the biggest reasons we chose IWS was because of the longevity of the company.Overall, the experience was good. Sales process was smooth. Subs that did the install were competent and did a good job working with us. System is up and running with components that we did a lot of research on prior to meeting with the salesman. We were also able to use a credit card to pay for the total installation cost, which was a bonus! We still need to talk with their service staff to walk us through our system so that we will become more familiar with it, so we can't provide a review on that just yet. Some challenges we had:1. Total process from sale to installation took far too long - End of July to end of December - We realize that there may have been an increase in installations in the 4th quarter due to the tax credit ending in 2025, but five months to schedule and complete a project is excessive2. Communication with project manager was poor - in our case, just a note once every week or two with an update would have been welcome and would have gone a long way - We hardly heard from him except when his CRM would generate auto emails on his behalf - Emails that were sent to project manager would often go unanswered as well any voice mails that were left - trying to contact him via voice was impossible3. Calls to IWS main number would often go into phone-tree oblivion - there were several times we were not able to raise anyone at the company when we called in, no matter what option that was selectedAgain, overall, we thought the experience was good, compared to other solar companies we have worked with in the past. We like the type of system that was installed and the components used.
I had a great experience with Intermountain Wind and Solar. The solar panels are great, but I was also interested in providing electricity to my home with a battery in case of a power outage. I have had a couple of power outages now and our house was the only one in the neighborhood with power during the outages. We do not even notice that the power has gone out. The sales representative was knowledgeable and answered any questions I had quickly. The installation went well and they were able to get everything up and running with very little effort on my part. I am able to monitor my power production and energy usage from my phone or computer. I love everything about my solar panels and battery and I'm so glad I went with Intermountain Wind and Solar.
Excellent work! Finished job in very professionally and timely manner. Responded well to any questions I have. It was worth going with IMS
I've been dying to write this review, but to add credibility to our euphoria I waited for a full year of results. 10 out 5 stars (and that coming from a family of astronomers)! ??We been enjoying our Intermountain Wind & Solar install for over a year now. Our project included a new roof that IWS subcontracted and a crew of 6 six guys did the entire 2000 sqft in less than a day! PV install was also only a 1-day job. What made our install so complicated is our remote location and the fact that we wanted 2 Tesla Powerwall IIIs and 2 Tesla Gateways so that we take advantage of our CyberTruck's PowerShare feature where the truck's battery bank (equivalent of 9 Powerwalls!) powers our home in the event of a grid failure lasting several cloudy days. Most installers we talked to were not up to the challenge. As everybody knows, Tesla is NOT easy to work with. But the Pros ar IWS knew exactly who to call at Tesla Energy to get everything configured and programmed correctly and our dreams of finally zeroing out our carbon footorint have come true! IWS made our system so efficient that with just 13.5kW worth of PVs we are able to power our home with enough energy left over to keep 2 CyberTrucks, a Model 3 and a Model Y on the road AND also reimbursed by our local utility for any extra electricity we put back on the grid. We still have small electric bills (~$50/month spring, summer, fall and ~$100 in the winter) but that's with 4 EVs, now SOLAR POWERED (except those 300+ round trips) that are all driven 15k-20k miles per year! ?? We still heat with firewood cuz chainsaws are fun and good exercise, but good riddance to gasoline, propane, fuel oil, and all that nasty ??-juice ??For the first few months we closely and manually manged the timing of our EVs charging etc. But soon it became completely unnecessary to do so, IDK whether to call it machine learning or AI, but the way Tesla vehicles and their Powerwall are managed by their Gateways causes the system to learn our human routines and our weather patterns so well, that we only have to check the all-in-one phone application when we are showing off the system to curious and or incredulous friends and neighbors.Thank you Intermountain Wind & Solar! We are constantly recommending your stellar services to all who so much as comment (positively or negatively) about our cars and roof. Still a lot of what-they-think-they-know-is-wrong haters out there (sigh). But a quick glance at our phone app makes even the mouthy ones look and listen for a moment. ??IWS took care of all the permitting, warranties, building inspections, our 20-year loan application, and our green energy tax credits! The only thing left to do:Now when are you guys going to come back down and film that success story commercial we keep encouraging you to do? ??
We met our salesman, Justin, at a home show. Justin was very knowledgeable about solar products and was not “pushy” as we contemplated adding solar to our new home, which was under construction. Justin met us at our home, as it was being built, two or three times, answering additional questions and concerns. Once we committed and were under contract, the installation team, lead by Chris, were great. We didn’t have many questions, but Chris and team were very responsive. The panels look great on our home.We are in our new home and the system has been operational for a week. Our system is generating a lot of kWh. Our hope is for our system to cover our power utilization. In our previous home we had solar from another company. That system was smaller than our new system, but was about $14,000 more.We would, and have, recommended Intermountain Wind and Solar to anyone considering solar. No regrets or sticker shock.Greg Bateman
