The guys were great to work with. Knowledgeable, kept commitments and communicated well. Dealt with a shipping issue that came up from the warrantied parts and made sure items were found. Would definitely recommend.
We bought a house with an existing solar system and needed to find someone when problems arose. Unfortunately, there aren’t many people that will work on systems that they didn’t install. I’m so happy that I called Power Shift Solar. Not only were they able to diagnose the problem (the inverter), they were able to replace it under warranty! They are great to work with and knowledgeable. I’m thankful that I found them to help keep my solar system up and running!
I have been using Powershift Solar for a number of years. They have maintained my solar system. I have had several optimizers replaced and the inverter recently went bad. They have always done a great job and I would highly recommend them. I have recommended them to others.
Fix it right the first time.We first called Power Shift Solar when we were experiencing an arc fault error code. After looking up the error code it recommended getting it serviced right away. They showed up and did their initial diagnostic check for $90 and recommended a couple things to fix the error. They came back the next week and checked all the connectors and the panel box. They determined the arc fault error was from faulty arc box detector and stated that it was likely the problem and the fix would be to disconnect the detector or reroute the wiring to bypass the arc fault detector. So they did this and were there for 4 hours. Ended up paying $450 for my DC combiner box to stop erroring and finally stopped tripping off.Three weeks later I checked the solar box and it had completely shut off, no more power coming to it at all. I called PSS and they came out with Nate and Phil who found that there was a box up top that had faulty wiring and sent me an invoice for an additional $90 service fee. I asked Phil if they warranteed their work and he said they do, but only for the parts and components that they work on. I asked if this box was the original cause of the arc fault and he said yes. I asked so why am I recieving an invoice for $90 that should have been fixed the first time? They said it was a different part that they didn’t work on therefore the charge stood. They then sent me this link to give them a Google review. 2 stars because it’s currently functioning and drawing power from the panels to the combiner box, however they should have fixed it the first time they were here and not tried to “bypass” a safety system that potentially prevents your house from burning down. The problem should have been identified correctly and fixed the first time if they truly had “checked everything” and I shouldn’t have been charged an additional $90 for them to come back and fix their oversight if they knew what they were doing.I won’t be doing business with them in the future unless they can fix their customer service relations.Update: Owner texted me a lengthy reason as to why they do business the way they do, owner became mad, called me asking what my problem was, hung up on me. Then texted me the following. Also, we were indeed charged the initial 90 charge on the invoice and it was paid, so that was a lie.I wouldn’t recommend doing business with this company as the proprietor can become quite nasty during a negotiation.
This is the only company that bothered to help me when my original solar company went bankrupt. My system has never been used even though it was partially installed in 2021. They came out and diagnosis the problem and had a new part shipped to me. Thought it was going to take 6-8 weeks maybe long. The part arrived in two weeks and they had me up and running that week. Prices are reasonable and the Phil and the installers were professional and understanding of the urgency I felt for this to be done. Thank you guys for everything. I definitely will recommend this company above others.
