Customer feedback is mixed. Positive themes mention helpful sales representatives, clear communication during the process, and solid installation outcomes, including systems holding up in severe weather. Critical reviews cite dissatisfaction with expectations set during sales, contract terms, and post-install communication or support, as well as concerns about overall costs. Prospective customers often note the importance of reviewing utility buy-back details and long-term payment structures before signing.

I regret getting Nivo Solar. They lie about everything they told me. They will tell you they will help you with stuff like finding a good buy-back plan with an electric company and then you wont hear a word from them. I pay about 3x more than I used too, (paying for the panels + monthly light bill), also you will be trapped in a 20 year long contract. They told me my payment would be around 160. Then it went to 181 then I got an email saying it will increase to 245 in a few months. Total SCAM. Please stay away from this company.

We signed up with Nivo Solar because of a young man named Caleb Beeler who came to our door. He explained solar energy and walked us through the entire process. Everyone we have dealt with in the Nivo Family has been extremely gracious and knowledgeable taking into mind they are dealing with elderly consumers. Caleb has graciously answered questions and procedures for us long distance as he is housed in Houston. Every time he comes to San Angelo, he stops by and checks on us personally and how are panels are producing. This time through San Angelo, he made sure we were completely logged in to all appropriate Apps and systems so we could monitor our own system. We are satisfied with Nivo and the Nivo Family.

Don’t waste your time doing business with NIVO, they will sit there trying to tell you how great this will be and you won’t pay so much in electric every month. They completely lie to your face with everything. Being a new homeowner the sales men completely took advantage made everything seem great he got his commission and I didn’t hear another word from him. They blocked the driveway by dropping the solar panels off right in front of our vehicles. The installation was a horrible experience. They got everything installed didn’t say a word and left. Then two days later we “needed” to get a new meter and breaker box installed. They install the meter and breaker box and now everything is labeled wrong The dryer is my oven and the oven is my HVAC. On top of everything when they finished all my outside outlets don’t work anymore and two in my garage. Then after having the solar panels for a while I find we are paying almost $100 more every month for electricity. They are a scam and they will take your money mess up your house and leave. If I could give this company a zero star review I would. Don’t waste your time or money.

Johnny Reyes and his team did an amazing job on our home and my in laws both done fast and professional. Entire experience was A++. All done the day of the big hail storm and the panels took baseball size hail with zero damage. I don’t impress easily. But after two hail storms now and no damage all I can say is wow! Maybe should have done the entire roof in solar lol.

Frequently Asked Questions

Public sources indicate they handle residential solar panel systems and can coordinate related roofing and battery options. A typical project includes consultation, design, installation, and interconnection steps.

Timelines vary by permitting, utility approval, and roof readiness. After design and approvals, on-site installation can often be completed within a few days, with final activation dependent on utility scheduling.

Solar can reduce grid usage, but total bills depend on system size, usage patterns, utility rates, and buy-back programs. Many homeowners still see a utility bill for basic charges or additional consumption.

If a roof is near the end of its useful life, addressing it before solar is often recommended. Nivo Solar lists roofing coordination, so you can ask about roof condition, load, and any upgrades during the consultation.

Request a written proposal showing system size, production estimates, total cost, incentives, and payment schedule. Review term length, escalation, cancellation, and service provisions, and compare with your utility’s buy-back policy.
