ProSolar California

I signed the contract for installing two Tesla Powerwall 3 batteries at my home in mid-November 2024 and my project was completed on Oct 2, 2025 - 10.5 months! Original commitment was to complete the project within 12 weeks (~mid-Feb 2025).

Got the run around about shortage of batteries in the market for months. Situation would change week to week. I'll be told they have sourced the batteries and they just need to schedule me, but days & weeks would go by without any follow-ups. Mind you, ProSolar California is based in LA area, and they send installers to the Bay Area to do the work. And, they only drive up north when they have accumulated enough work, which can take weeks to months. It took so long that the original design for my battery installation became outdated since a Gateway was no longer needed for my project - a revision to Tesla design recommendation. That resulted in further delays as City Permit had to be modified and re-approved.

Once the installation was complete, I ran into an issue with the battery settings - ProSolar incorrectly set Grid Charging to Restricted. The owner of ProSolar told me it was because of the Investment Tax Credit requirement. This is not true. With Inflation Reduction Act, Grid Charging Restriction was lifted on Jan 1, 2023 - this is clearly disclosed in Tesla’s Advanced Settings webpage that I shared with ProSolar. Despite numerous attempts at contacting the owner over a period of weeks, I never got a single response back. I ended up calling Tesla Powerwall Support team, and they were able to adjust my settings remotely in 5 minutes on the phone.

I'm grateful that my project is complete. But, I'm worried that I will be ghosted again by ProSolar if I need any support in the future. I'm giving ProSolar two stars because when they engage with you, the people are nice and courteous. Everything else... BEWARE!

Every one of ProSolar’s technicians is extremely knowledgeable and the process was very efficient - only taking 3.5 weeks - from initial conversation and estimate to install, inspection, PTO and turn on.

I appreciated the extra time taken to make sure I understood every step of the process and follow up to make sure the system meets my expectations.

When I thought about joining solar I had a lot of questions and decided to call and ask questions before I purchased .
Regina is absolutely phenomenal, she connected me to Antoinette who made sure she explained everything so descriptive and understandable so I knew what I would be agreeing to before buying . She offered the best customer service and wouldn’t hang up until I properly understood. They proved not only do they care about solar they also care about the customers know what solar is about.

Patrick is the best contractor I've worked with by a long shot. I love the fact that he does all of the work himself and is local. He came out promptly for a consultation, which was quite educational, and then laid out a clear and comprehensive job plan based on my particular solar needs, having never once pressed for a deposit. Patrick completed each step of the job according to schedule and payment installments were due in accordance. Overall, pricing against competition was good, but my confidence in him makes it all a far greater value.

Patrick and his team installed our solar a little less than a year ago. He was a pleasure to work with--always on time, delivered what he promised, communicated reliably and clearly. An all-around great job. My neighbors across the street used him on my recommendation and they're very happy as well. Also, Patrick's prices were terrific. Most importantly though, he's just a really nice guy, who works super hard, and delivered us fantastic results. Can't recommend him highly enough!
