I signed the contract for installing two Tesla Powerwall 3 batteries at my home in mid-November 2024 and my project was completed on Oct 2, 2025 - 10.5 months! Original commitment was to complete the project within 12 weeks (~mid-Feb 2025).Got the run around about shortage of batteries in the market for months. Situation would change week to week. I'll be told they have sourced the batteries and they just need to schedule me, but days & weeks would go by without any follow-ups. Mind you, ProSolar California is based in LA area, and they send installers to the Bay Area to do the work. And, they only drive up north when they have accumulated enough work, which can take weeks to months. It took so long that the original design for my battery installation became outdated since a Gateway was no longer needed for my project - a revision to Tesla design recommendation. That resulted in further delays as City Permit had to be modified and re-approved.Once the installation was complete, I ran into an issue with the battery settings - ProSolar incorrectly set Grid Charging to Restricted. The owner of ProSolar told me it was because of the Investment Tax Credit requirement. This is not true. With Inflation Reduction Act, Grid Charging Restriction was lifted on Jan 1, 2023 - this is clearly disclosed in Tesla’s Advanced Settings webpage that I shared with ProSolar. Despite numerous attempts at contacting the owner over a period of weeks, I never got a single response back. I ended up calling Tesla Powerwall Support team, and they were able to adjust my settings remotely in 5 minutes on the phone.I'm grateful that my project is complete. But, I'm worried that I will be ghosted again by ProSolar if I need any support in the future. I'm giving ProSolar two stars because when they engage with you, the people are nice and courteous. Everything else... BEWARE!
