From start to finish... this team was amazing. We researched solar on and off for 6+ years. We strive to support local and just felt the nationwide companies were not a fit for us. Ilumen fit the bill on so many levels. Local Illinois company with a big company feel and capabilities. They answered countless questions and walked us through every detail to get our unique system reviewed by the local municipality, installed and ultimately approved for final inspection. Our house was heavily shaded by substantial oak and hickory trees. However, Ilumen didn't panic when we approached them about putting the system on our outbuilding and back-feeding to the house. Every other company wanted to trench up our yard or told us it wasn't possible. Ilumen went out of their way to meet our needs and provide a system that worked within our budget and our unique physical setup. We're just a few months in but have seen the system out perform their original projected productions.

Illumen installed an expansion to my solar panels, an integrated Franklin battery system and two EV charging stations. The Franklin a-gates are performing perfectly and the system is well balanced between supply and demand across two separate subpanels. So far, I have not received a bill from ComEd since July as the solar power and batteries typically cover all of my electricity needs per day. I presume that is because my bill was NEGATIVE!! Also, we had a power outage a few weeks back and the system kicked in to take over perfectly. All of this would not be possible without Ilumen’s excellent guidance and execution on my project. This is the kind of company you can trust to build a solid, cost effective solar system.

I got a referral for Ilumen Solar from the contractor that was doing some renovation work for me on the interior of my home. The contractor was very passionate about how good these guys are. Ilumen Solar just completed the install of my Solar System and let me tell you, they absolutely delivered! From start to finish, the process was professional, and efficient. Working with Zach, Dan and the rest of the team was truly a pleasure. They kept me informed at each stage of the project and very thoroughly explained each step through completion and beyond. They patiently and thoroughly answered the countless questions I threw at them and even took care of submissions for some of the rebates I qualified for. I am absolutely delighted with the experience I had with Ilumen Solar and I encourage anyone considering installing Solar on their home to give these guys your business. We recently finished working with Ilumen Solar for our company's solar installation, and their patience & professionalism throughout the entire process was the highlight of their customer service. What began as a typical project turned into a long journey due to unforeseen delays (specifically with Com-ED), and construction upgrades on our end. Despite the drawn out timeline, Zach & Dan at Ilumen Solar remained patient, understanding, and committed to our project.

From the very beginning, the team worked closely with us, providing updates, answering every question we had especially helpful as a newbie to solar. Their customer service truly stood out when we had to deal with roofing inspections/roofing warranties where they went above and beyond to make sure things went smoothly with the roofers. The only thing we would warn to someone looking to install solar is the additional cost associated with maintaining roofing warranties.

There was a mix-up with the Elk Gove Village inspection but Ilumen quickly corrected the issue which was just another example of quality customer service. The final solar layout on our roof is fantastic, and we’re already seeing the great positive impact of the solar panels on our energy costs without even a full winter month of generating.

Would highly recommend Ilumen Solar to anyone looking for a solar energy provider. Their patience, expertise, and constant support throughout our project were invaluable.

We were impressed by the professionalism and transparency of Zach's team throughout our residential solar installation last year. The project involved more complexities than we initially anticipated, requiring us to gain a deeper understanding of various aspects before signing off and during the execution.
Zach, Dan, Dilip, and the entire team consistently provided excellent support and guidance, ensuring the project stayed on track. The system was successfully turned on November of last year and it has been fun to observe the production of green energy, even during the shorter days.
While the process had its complexities, the team's personalized attention and clear explanations made it much more manageable.
We truly appreciate the team's dedication to educating and informing their customers every step of the way. We highly recommend iLumen to anyone considering solar.
