After shopping around for a while for solar, and either dealing with shady practices or flat out refusals to do work, I was recommended WindSolarUSA to see if they could give us a quote. The experience of just getting the quote felt refreshing compared to other places. I filled out the form, set up an online call, was given a very informative presentation, and was sent the proposal without any pressure on needing to get back to them on proceeding with a yay/nay. After thinking a bit on it and considering other options, we decided to go forward with the project. Kara and Michelle kept in constant communication every step of the way. The entire process took just over four months (paperwork, approvals, inspections, parts delivery, installations). We're now up and running with solar and are really happy with how things went. Would highly recommend them if you're thinking about going solar.
Our experience with WindSolar has been excellent. We had solar installed in late April 2023, and Michelle (owner) and her assistant (Kara) were incredibly prompt responders and wonderful to work with. We enjoyed the aspect that the experience was not a pushy sales situation--Michelle simply presented the facts and let us decide from there. Plus their support after installation in answering questions has been suburb in providing quality service. Highly recommend!
I had a very disappointing experience with this company. First they required that I provide them with my utility usage information for the past year, and a Google image of my property. Then they refused to do a site visit to answer my questions about installation. Then, after waiting a couple months they told me that I would have less than an hour to review their proposal before a scheduled conversation with their representative. I requested a couple days to review their proposal before discussion, but they refused. Thus, I lost a lot of time and some significant state rebates were lost. After contacting other solar companies they were able to obtain the needed information without my input, and they performed site visits to answer my questions. I give this company a very poor evaluation in basic customer service.Just saw the 'Response from the Owner' - No confusion - correct company - all facts. Owner is all talk and poor service.
WindSolarUSA did a great job with our 12.5 kW array. They took extra time to work with the roofer installing our metal roof. We trust their team and appreciate their knowledge, professionalism, and attention.
I had them install my 9.8kW solar array. Michelle Knox and her crew did a great job designing my system, walking me through the application process to get our energy credits, completing the installation, and getting our system inspected/approved by the county and our utility company. The work was completed in a timely manner and the quality of workmanship is excellent. I can recommend them without reservation if you are seeking a solar installer and live in central Illinois.
